I miss the days when this side of the site was full of activity and wonderful conversations. Now it’s a ghost town over here. Thanks to a couple of jerks who spewed their ignorance and hatred all over the place. Hope this board goes back to what it was eventually. But not holding my breath. What happened to the old days...
South Florida and _ _ _ a '_ _ _ a _ _ a _ _ happened
Repetitive anti-religion person
The unbearable odiousness of the poster whose initials rhyme with "pee gay," laments rudeness while trashing working performers when maybe he should stick to the autograph show beat?
The only occasionally smart but often air-headed libertarian continge'
The poseur who can't face that the Mary Mary era isn't ever coming back so wants others to experience his misery by being miserable
_ _ _ a '_ _ _ a _ _ a _ _
There are still a few of the Last of the Mohicans here and the site is lucky to have them
and did I mention _ _ _ a '_ _ _ a _ _ a _ _ ?
Turns out BWW is not a hard habit to break.
Hope you're well, Mildred. MWAH.
ETA: Just another quick drop-in to say when I was making up this post I couldn't remember the horrible one with the regressive politics and I think claims to be a woman? Rhymes with "spork" but completely useless? You know the one.
Keep up the good fight, smart posters. And never buckle under the pressure of anybody who tells you you're not tolerant if you won't tolerate intolerance? Okay? Sending love to you lovable ones! xo
Aw Namo! Hope you are well, too, my friend! Yeah, I'm about to break the BWW habit too, methinks. Even if some of the crazies on here have gone away, some still remain, spreading their misery even when they're claiming to remain civil.
Mildred, You didn't enjoy reading the exploits of adopting a monkey? I don't click on videos of unknown persons, so not sure what it entailed. Hey Namo.
I think a lot have moved on Mildred. I come on read a few things and off I go. I do agree that a few people have taken the enjoyment out of the board. There is one who thinks they are the moderator which has really turned me off of the board. Also as a gay man I find this person highly offensive to the rights of the gay community and the theatre community. I cant support a board that has allowed that to happen.
Also this site isn't a fan of my iPad. Ads open ads upon ads. Last night was checking things out and no matter what I clicked on I was constantly get the ad for Hello Dolly. No matter what I clicked on I would get the ad. Very annoying.
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
Art man, I couldn’t resist and clicked on it. It was actually videos of monkeys!
Totally Huss! It’s that same poster that’s turned me off from the boards. They know exactly what they’re doing. They play the victim every time someone calls them out. I’ve now blocked them, but I still wish they’d just leave. I just don’t understand why they don’t see the hypocrisy of claiming to love an affirmative filled with minorities and supporting a presidency out to silence anyone who isn’t a privledged straight white male. Just baffling.
My iPhone also doesn’t like this site. I often click on something and get some enter this contest page, forcing me to close out the site. Ugh.
I’d hope there is room for people of all ideologies on here. Broadway Concierge (let’s not be coy, it’s obvious who you’re talking about) doesn’t even talk politics on here anymore. Have we reached the point of being so sensitive and intolerant that we can’t abide even the presence of a Trump supporter on these boards? I’ve got news for you, he’s not the only one.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable that a message board that has a large percentage of LGBT members and their allies would want this to be a safe space from bigotry and supporters of politicians out to strip us of our rights.
And they may very well be trying to stay out of politics but that doesn’t mean they get to try to run the main board and act like they own the joint. They can play the victim all they want, but they are still trying to assert themselves as the head honcho around here. And many are sick of it
I don’t care if they are attempting to stay neutral, the damage has been done. I don’t need to understand or be open to ideologies that support bigots, homophobes, racists, and rapists.
(I'm only commenting because I was mentioned by name)
Mildred, you can't keep saying that I'm trying to run BWW like I own the joint when you attacked me on the main board yesterday for a comment about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (literally) and then unilaterally and bizarrely turned it into a political thing. (All the comments have been deleted by the mods, for the record.) You then policed me for calling you out on it. It's not "playing the victim" when you alone politicized that entire affair. I haven't brought up politics on here in nearly a year, as much as you'd like to say that I continue to do so.
I'm loathe to comment on this side of the boards anyway since my presence alone is apparently traumatizing enough, but it makes no sense for you to keep singling me out when (A) I have been actively avoiding political discussion, and (B) as hork noted, I'm not the only one on here in my camp. The crying and whining is embarrassing.
And have fun reporting me to the mods again. I’m done with your pretentious, masturabatory, ignorant, contradictory presence. I’d rather vomit into a bag of toxic waste than suffer your presence for one more minute. Anyone who doesn’t like you is clearly mentally ill and in need of help.
Have fun helping our country being flushed down the toilet. And have fun pretending you didn’t contribute to the decline of our society.
And have fun thinking anyone on this board gives two ****s about anything you think.
Same thing happens to me all the time. Every time I click the off topic board I suddenly win a brand new iphone! If i sold all those new iphones i won mabye i could afford nice seats to hello dolly! Ha!

I appreciate your passion but it’s challenging to see the hypocricy on this board. Where is the passion for LGBT rights when we start talking about Islam or Christianity? People seem only willing to defend the LGBT community as far as being politically correct can take them. Meanwhile, poor gay Muslims and Christians are being isolated from their communities, beaten and killed for being gay. The only Muslims that so called ‘progressive’ people care about are those that uphold the patriarchy and are of cis gendered status and heterosexuality. No wonder the term ‘regressive left’ was coined.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Yeah. Judging by this thread, SO much joy we are missing out on. Ah the old days, when then old school jumped on and attacked newbies. All those lovely personal attacks - how I miss them.
Namo you are missed. My Bette infatuation has kept me checking in. But I seldom click on the OT board anymore. I will have to re connect with you on social media. But sadly I have never taken to any of that. Thank you again for your recommendations for my summer trip. Your advice was right on.

I'll take boring any day over a safe space for cyber-bullies who haven't gotten over being bullied in junior high. The bearded mean girls are not missed.
