The Band’s Visit stagedoor |
The show’s already started, so maybe this isn’t super helpful. But for what it’s worth:
I don’t usually stage door, but loved this show so much I made an exception. On the Saturday night I attended in December almost everyone came out. The security staff announced early that Katrina Lenk had guests and would not be appearing. Tony Shaloub came out last, maybe 40 minutes after the show. Everyone in the cast was sweet and gracious. Also, the stage door vibe was much more chill than at other stage doors. No pushing or shoving.
Hope you enjoy the show!
I went during previews so I assume it's more crowded now, but it was a very low-key thing when I was there. Katrina Lenk took a while to come out but everyone else came out fairly quickly and spent a while chatting with everyone. Ari'el Stachel and Etai Benson are a riot, especially when they're right next to each other in the signing line. Also, I know the staff changes from night to night but the security that was there that night was delightful, very wry and funny - a few of us at stage door have or had theatre jobs and we were swapping horror stories with the security (they won :) )
Tonight it was pretty much everyone in quick order (within 40 minutes) with the exception of Adam Kantor, since they had a post show talkback.
Everyone was absolutely lovely. Katrina Lenk reminded me a bit of Christy Altomare, who goes out and owns the stage, and she is touched by the praise she recieved.
