Hollywood Pantages 18-19?#1
Posted: 1/2/18 at 1:05pm

While Hamilton (last show in the 2016-2017 season) was still running, the Pantages sent out invoices for subscribers to "Auto renew" for the season 2017-2018 season; after the next season that hasn't even started yet. It seems like a cash grab for no reason, except I'm sure they like the $$ in their bank account earning interest vs mine.

While this seems like a blatant cash grab, does anyone have any ideas what is coming next season.(Now that Hamilton has left, I'll call 2018-19 next season)

On the plus side, I'm 100% confident they will still take my money after they announce the season.

I'm assuming a return of Hamilton but beyond that, unsure.

Dear Evan Hansen has already been announced for the Ahmanson.

Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, Falsettos, and The Play that Goes Wrong (plus two TBD) were announced as the Ahmanson 2018-2019 (again with the option to "early renew."Hollywood Pantages 18-19?   They offered some free swag giveaway plus a chance to win a trip to NYC. So I took it as Dear Evan Hansen made renewing a lock.

I'd say ANASTASIA and CATS are safe bets, as well as MISS SAIGON. No clue regarding the proposed GREAT COMET tour - it'd be very cool at the Pantages but also very expensive depending on how immersive it is.

They usually announce their season early February- so we don't have to hold our breath too long.

Hamilton have already announced there 2018/19 dates and LA was not on the list , San Diego and Costa Messa are.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Is the great comet tour actually happening, or did that fizzle out?

(Same question on bandstand and Groundhog Day)

Is it common for shows to announce that they’ll tour, and then end up not going on tour?

Yes, as of now, I don't think any of the 3 are touring.

Please not Cats.  Now and Forever was just a marketing slogan.  I really don’t need to see it again.

Would there be a San Francisco production and LA production running simultaneously?

My guess for the Pantages season:

• Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
• Miss Saigon
• Hello Dolly!
• Fiddler on the Roof
• Anastasia
• Wicked or Les Miserables

Please let Wicked, Les Miz, Phantom, Book of Mormon, Lion King and/or Cats be a bonus option and not part of the seasons.    I mean this with much love and affection for all of the mentioned shows (except Cats) but how many times can a show play LA.  I have no problems if Elphaba wants to camp out for a 6 week run and print money over the holidays but please don't make me pay to see it again.  I enjoyed it immensely the first time but....

That's a solid list. They are announcing Tuesday, 1/30 at 6 am.

Our "Broadway San Diego" 2018/19 lineup has just been announced.  Not sure how closely it matches what will be seen at the Pantages (or elsewhere), but.......

Beautiful (Oct 2-7, 2018)

Wicked (Oct 31 - Nov 25, 2018)

Waitress (Nov 27 - Dec 2, 2018)

Dolly (Jan 15-20, 2019)

Aladdin (Feb 20 - Mar 3, 2019)

Cats (Apr 16-21, 2019)

Charlie (May 14-19, 2019)

Fiddler (May 28 - Jun 2, 2019)

Miss Saigon (July 9-14, 2019)

Book of Mormon (Jul 23-28, 2019)

I asked the rep if he knows who will star as "Dolly".  He said they had a staff meeting yesterday, but nobody has a clue.

I am very happy.

I DON'T BACK AWAY FROM BULLIES

San Diego and Segerstrom usually make up the Pantages season from past season history. It will be a great season. I'm just not to excited to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at all.

Apart from Hello Dolly, what a mostly awful season

I'll expect Hello Dolly, Cats, Anastasia, Miss Saigon, Charlie, and Fiddler. Beautiful, Wicked, and Hamilton will probably be season extras, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a return of Phantom.

If Hello Dolly is heading to Costa Mesa, I'll see it for possibly Christine Ebersole
