Anyone tried the Wicked lottery at Block 37 yet? I plan to go down and try it at point in the next week but I would love to know how easy/difficult it is to win. I assume it's not as hectic or popular as the one in NYC.....

I’ve entered three times and lost all three times. The crowd has been upward of 20 people each time. If you’re lucky they will have 52 dollar loser tickets which is how I saw it.
And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

I'm thinking of trying the lotto when I'm in Chicago next week.

Do you estimate 20ish people were there and 10 people won (each buying two tickets, for a total of 20 lottery tickets)?  If so, 1:2 odds aren't too bad!  Do you know where the lottery seats were located in the theater?  Were they restricted view?

I was there the first Sunday and there were a good 40-50 people that entered. I lost but got lucky because Ginna Claire Mason won and the guy that won right after her didn't know he had to go that day. So I ended up getting his tickets because Ginna Claire found me and I bought his tickets.

I wonder if crowds will die down if one enters on a weekday rather than a weekend? And it probably was worse if you want earlier on, now that it's been going on for a while hopefully it might die down.

In my experience throughout the years in various cities more people show up towards the end of the run. Philly was just insane the entire 5 weeks last summer.

I tried the first Thursday and Friday of the run. Both times there were about 50 people, and I lost both times. On the Friday only, they offered $50 tickets to those who lost the lottery, and I got a ticket in the side orchestra about 12 rows back.

It's nice that they do the lottery indoors, considering the cold weather, and it's right in front of the HotTix booth, so if you lose, you can get get a last minute discounted ticket to something else.
