There’s no song list in the program but what I remember was Some People, What is it about her, when you wish upon a Star/a dream is a wish, somewhere over the rainbow, I don’t care, I’m breaking, and defying gravity (after which she got a standing ovation well deserved). Also as far as her concert giving goes, she is fantastic at transitions that feel natural.
Sounds wonderful! Can’t wait to watch it on PBS. I could only go to one and I picked Andrew Rannells. He sounded great, but I was a little disappointed by his song choices. He was cheeky and charming, as you’d expect, between songs, but he never really blew me away. Never got a standing ovation and didn’t sing anything from anything he’s been in.

Did you see all four shows?
i loved “It Must Be Him”. He was so dramatic. His personality really shone through. I’ve been listening to that song on a loop ever since. “Born to Run” was hilarious, especially because I’ve been thinking about splurging on a ticket to Springsteen and I don’t even like his music. My bf and I had been arguing over the Springsteen show all day and when he sang it-we both lost it. He was enjoyable, for sure, but never completely blew me away. The Appel Room blew me away. What a spectacular view. Absolutely stunning.
It was not from Anything Goes and I can’t for the life of me figure out what song it was but it was definitely in the style of You’re the Top.
Sutton bookended the show with Cockeyed optimist, she had her not for the life of me/nyc/astonishing medley, a duet medley of gimme gimme and some other love song that was fantastic, a really cute medley of If I were a bell and singin in the rain, Stars and the moon, down with love, a song from Bridges of Madison county, and starting here, starting now is what I remember off the top of my head.
Hearing her sing Stars and the Moon was thrilling but I think the If I were a bell/singin in the rain bit was probably my favorite. Obviously the Groff bit was the highlight. I honestly love everything she does so it’s hard to say.

No no... I mean of all 4 concerts. Whose concert did you like best?
O I see. I am 100% biased towards Sutton, seeing her perform anything is always surreal for me. Seeing her concert really made me appreciate how fantastic of an actor she is, her eyes and smile are just killer. I think objectively Stephanie had the best flow and set list. Andrew’s set list I really loved too. For whatever reason Leslie’s set just didn’t work for me. I think I just don’t like the style he is going for (it’s much less musical theatre than the others).
