Is the NT Follies transferring to Broadway? |

It looks way too big for a normal size Broadway house, especially a commercial production, and I can't imagine Lincoln Center would produce it.

^ because the plan is for My Fair Lady to stay open for at least a season

I think it's going to be much longer before we see Follies back on Broadway.

Exactly, it just had a MAJOR revival that fizzled. I don't see why LCT would invest in it, and I can't imagine it would do well in a commercial situation.

The article on this site about the break-in describes it as "Broadway-bound Follies". Not that the info here is always right, but maybe it's something.

Follies is a notoriously expensive show. A limited run would not make enough money without extraordinarily high ticket prices.

Just because something is "Broadway-Bound" doesn't always mean it's going to be right away. Also, a lot of BWW articles have been majorly incorrect, lately:
Announcing that NBC's Bye, Bye Birdie was debuting in the Spring of 2018 (immediately corrected the article)
A current profile article about Christine Ebersole indicates she is still on Broadway in War Paint.
Either no one facts check, or rushed to get articles out with major errors.

It's a sign of nothing more than what it is.
And I can't imagine we will be seeing this on Broadway. If it was such a success why not transfer it to the West End?
I don't want a Follies Broadway revival for at least another 10 years. When Kristin Chenoweth/Benanti and Sutton Foster would be perfect to play Sally and Phyllis, respectively. If this production is the one that happens at that point, I'd be very very happy indeed.

Meryl as Sally
Just imagine...
If I were a commercial investor I wouldn’t put money into it. Lincoln Center might make it work but surely many of the subscribers would have already seen the most recent revival - so it’s not a garantueed hit.

Oh wow, I really want this to happen...
This just popped into my head, but what if Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett had done it in the 80's? With Julie as Phyllis and Carol as Sally?
