For my English class, I am doing a Macbeth Music Project where I have to pick a song related to each act. I really want them all to be musical theatre songs and I have a song for all of the other acts except act 3. Thanks!

Interesting concept...I hope you'll share the finished project! Are you looking for something serious, or more tongue-in-cheek?

"The Rumble" from West Side Story? (Macbeth as a Jet and Banquo as a Shark?)

"Not Dead Yet" from Spamalot?

"This Jesus Must Die" from Jesus Christ Superstar?

Take A Break from Hamilton references the whole play, including act 3 (Burnham Wood to Dunsinane), if that works....

I've always thought those lines were a clever way of avoiding the Macbeth curse.

It sets up that way, then he goes and just says Macbeth in the next line. Works great as a joke, and the show seems to have done allright despite the curse. It's pretty downhill for the character from there, though.

the curse has to do with saying the name of the play Macbeth; Hamilton mentions the name of the character Macbeth.

This probably would apply to Act 1, but take a listen to "Witch's Brew" from HALLELUJAH, BABY! (You knows it, sistuh!)
