A newly revised version of 42ND ST has opened at the Drury Lane Theatre outside Chicago.  The critics are somewhat divided but most are positive and Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune gives it a rave.

Thanks for posting this.  I wish I had time to squeeze in a last-minute weekend trip to Chicago to see this.  Phillip Attmore most recently appeared in the current production of Hello, Dolly!  He's an absolutely wonderful performer. I think I've seen him in most of the shows he has appeared in.

I thought that by your use of the word "revisionist," that this production denies that the Depression ever happened.

I mean, every musical theatre fan knows that the Depression never happened... because in 1933, a little red-haired orphan girl motivated FDR so much that he ended the Depression AND stopped then-Chancellor Adolf Hitler from starting World War 2. It's basic American History.
