In the last month, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, and Taylor Swift released new albums.

Would love to hear thoughts? Favorite tracks?

Pink is the best singer of the bunch - watching her career has been amazing. She is best when left to sing. I’m hoping we get a country album out of her next - she did just perform at the CMAs.

Taylor’s album is quite something. I will never understand why she chooses the weakest songs for her singles - some of the deeper cuts on the album are amazing. Namely, Dress, Delicate, So It Goes, and Getaway Car are all quite fantastic. I do like the new feel to the songs and appreciate her lyrics. One of the best (at least to me) is the line “There were sirens in the beat of his heart.” The duality of that line is quite something.

Bought both Pink and Kelly Clarkson when they came out.  Really liked both of them.  Not really a Taylor Swift fan.  Can I add that the new Miley Cyrus is really good.  Of the three, Miley is my number one pick.  Every track is great and a big departure from Bangerz (which I loved).  I didn't get her last one which came out on the internet so can't make any comparison.

I thought Miley's album was quite dull. The writing was very amateur and basic. And the melodies weren't catchy or interesting.

Kelly's album is fantastic and hands down my favorite. Her vocals are flawless and I love the 60s girl group vibe mixed with the more modern beats. I think it's a stunner. Not a dud of a song on there.

Haven't heard Taylor's, but I enjoy "Are You Reay For It..." and "Gorgeous."

Pink's is hit and miss. I love "Barbies" and "But We Lost It." But hate "Revenge." But for the most part I think it's really strong and can't wait to see her in concert.

The race for best pop album at the Grammys is gonna be good this year, including Kesha's album.

I do not enjoy Taylor Swift. I don't find anything about her music and persona authentic or honest. Gotta give her credit though, she found a way to manufacture some drama and sell records.

Miley is in good voice. Can't really get into any of the songs though. Kesha's sounds like one continuous track.

Kelly's voice has the such versatility. She can truly sing anything and while I don't enjoy every song on the album, she sounds unbelievable.

Pink's is probably my favorite. I truly dislike Revenge, but the rest is some fantastic song writing and she has never sounded better.

Kelly, Taylor, and Pink all had their albums out after the cutoff.  So Kesha's biggest competition this year will come from Demi Lovato.

Oh bumm! I thought Grammys were like year to year. In that case, yeah, Kesha probably will win. While I don't enjoy the album so much, I think she's made a huge right turn in her career. Demi's album is a bore.

Not a Swift fan. Kelly Clarkson's is nice but I really like Pink's new cd. My favorite tracks are SECRETS and I AM HERE. Also like the Barbie song.

Haven't heard Kelly's album apart from "Love So Soft", which is awesome.

Pink's album was a bit of a disappointment. Mostly ballads, with not enough signature grit or charm for my taste. Favorite tracks: "Beautiful Trauma", "Where We Go", "Secrets", "Better Life".

Taylor's album is mostly well-written. The singles ("Look What...", "Ready for It?" ) play into the album's worst tendencies, which are surface-level nuance and dated trap beats. However, the good tracks are really good: "Getaway Car", "Dancing with Our Hands Tied", "Call It What You Want", "Delicate".

Kelly's might be her career best. Pink's might be her career worst. I just find it a little boring. No real stand out track for me other then the title track, which is amazing. Still love Pink and am excited for her and Kelly on the AMAs this Sunday.

Kelly's album is just phenomenal. Her voice sounds incredible on these songs. She was always meant to sing soul, though she truly is versatile and can sing just about any genre.

Haven't gotten around to Taylor yet...

See, when Pink's came out, I went back and did a "retrospective" - girl has a ton of records - and I couldn't find one that I could listen to all the way through. Which, besides Revenge, I can put this album on and listen to it. I do love Secrets and hope its releases as a single.

Anyone listening to Sia's Christmas album?! It's beyond absurd and I'm obsessed. I mean a song called "Puppies are Forever?!" When will she write a theater score?!

Okay, I just started with the new Swift.  Couldn't get past track 3.  Overproduced garbage.  I've never understood her appeal to anyone over the age of 16 for her previous stuff, and this new one just sounds hideous.  I'm really looking forward to hearing the new Clarkson and Pink, but honestly, by comparison, anything I hear after that dreck will sound refreshing.

"

I’m obsessed with “Underneath the Christmas lights”. I’m starting to wonder whether Sia is churning out too many songs a little too fast. But an album of entirely original Christmas-related music is a good effort.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances?
