Well hopefully they animate some life into her peorfmance. If they had cast anyone else, Shadowland probably wouldn’t have been included, but I feel like they have to now.
So James Earl Jones now has to go and try to replicate a performance he gave in a movie 24 years ago and do his best not to sound like he's 86. That's going to be a challenge.
I will bet there is a new song for Nala by Elton and Beyonce. She really wants an Oscar for something, anything. I think Rafiki should be a woman also. Linda Hunt won an oscar playing a hu-Man.

He sounds the same as he did back then. I really don't think he'll have much problem voicing Mufasa again.
i wouldn’t be surprised if they dumped all the songs from the stage version and wrote several new ones like what happened with the recent Beauty and the Beast. none of the new songs from The Lion King are exactly gems, it would make a lot of sense to me.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."

The less cues they take from Beauty and the Beast, the better IMO. But since it was such a big hit, I wouldn't be surprised if they repeated some of those choices.
That is a good cast, but I'll say it again- the cast was ALREADY perfect, as was the original work. I don't know why they picked this movie to do- even Jungle Book made more sense because it was an older film and at least contained a human character. You can't really call this "live-action," as there still will be no humans in it. You can call it the "fancier CGI animation" remake.
