Previews for Steve Martin's new comedy, Meteor Shower, begin in just a few days (Wednesday, November 1, 2017) at the Booth Theatre. Starring Laura Benanti, Keegan-Michael Key, Jeremy Shamos, and Amy Schumer in her Broadway debut, Meteor Shower is set to open officially on November 29 for a limited run currently through January 21, 2018.

Who's going?!

I had a crazy dream last night that meteor shower lost all of its initial investment in a pre Broadway tryout and couldn’t open and then Hello Dolly was closing because it had one week where it made just under 2 million.

Terrible quality photo, but the first very vague and overexposed view of the set on the Booth's Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/p/BamzzhhldMS/?taken-at=257410821

Are we thinking the rush for this show will be super crazy? They're only doing box seats, so max 12 per performance. Planning on rushing it because those prices are absurd.

Friend went tonight and said the script is weird, but the performances are great. He was raving about Benanti.

Was at the invited dress tonight. Overall, one of the funniest plays I've seen in recent memory. A tight 90 minutes that only feels two minutes too long.

You heard it here first: another Tony for Laura Benanti. I'm blown away by her comedic timing. I don't think she had a single line that the audience didn't howl at.

Amy Schumer definitely held her own. I'm sure she'll ease into the story as performances continue. I think it definitely helped to have an entire house full of college kids.

Glad to hear Benanti is running away with it.

Keegan is funny, but playing within what we've seen him do before. Pretty consistently alternating between being loud and being arrogant. His best bits are with Laura.

Jeremy Shamos is great and serves as the much-needed grounding for the play. Him and Amy Schumer had fantastic chemistry.

Do we think they'll try and re-cast to extend the production? Seems like such a short run.

A dumb question I already know I'll get hounded out for, but is the show political at all, broadwaybinge? I'd really love to see just a pure comedic play on Broadway that isn't full of commentary. This sounds like it could be it...?

I was also at the invited dress tonight and can confirm that Benanti is hilarious; think her performance in  "SOM  Live" amped up to a hundred. She could absolutely snag a nomination come Tony time. The rest of the cast absolutely hold their own, each with individual great moments, particularly Key in one scene mid-way through.

As a play itself, there seems to be a bit of work to be done. Regardless, it's an awful lot of fun, and I'm sure the writing will change a bit as previews go on. The creative team, with the exception of Martin, was there and I think it was a great audience for them to see what is working and what isn't. They all know what they're doing.

Re your question BroadwayConcierge, no, it is not political at all!

I am thinking about rushing this in December... What time do people usually line up for rushes? I want to grab a ticket for a Wednesday matinee.

I'm so happy for everyone! And Laura is skipping all of the stage doors to take care of her health & her baby. Queen!

Um, okay. I guess. Can someone explain her need to make an announcement about this?

Do you know how crazy and insane stagedoor people in this world can be? Scroll through 2 pages of any thread here on BWW.

Good for her. A very smart move both to abstain from doing it and to be transparent about it.

I don't see how 5 minutes after a show is going to make or break anyone. It's her right to stage door or not, I just don't see the point of throwing praise on someone for not doing it.

I realize I'm likely to be SHREDDED for my opinion.
