My guess is Jason Mraz at Dr. Pomater.  He was on the album with her singing that part, he hasn't had an album in a while, and he's a decent name to bring in tickets.

In one of her Vlogs, didn't Betsy say she went to LA to help out with whatever this "special announcement" was? 

Soo...LA production of the show?  Which could explain her leaving Carousel?  Any chance?

^hmmm. No. It’s already going there on tour. She was probably in LA to do a photo shoot with the new Pomatter who is based out of LA. 

My hope it’s Justin Timberlake, but he may be too famous. Jason Mraz would make a ton of sense. I wouldn’t mind John Mayer either.

It's almost certainly going to be the announcement of a new Dr Pomatter, likely a big name since they are making a big fuss about it.  My guess is Betsy's trip down to LA was to do a photoshoot or film something related to said casting.  We'll see Thursday who they got I guess!

Every comment on that announcement on Twitter/Instagram is praying that Waitress is casting a female Dr. Pomatter and will make her and Jenna lesbians. Literally what did Sara say to suggest that would be anything they'd do...?

To be fair, Sara has said that she'd be open to the idea of a female Dr. Pomatter. But I feel like it'd probably happen in another production, if it ever did happen.

I saw on twitter someone suggest Sara Ramirez as the new Jenna (stethoscope = her role on greys). Likely a new Dr P but that would be pretty cool!

Is there a possibility they are going to announce more than one character replacement? My first reaction to the hints was that each day would be a hint to a character that the casting will be announced. Obviously that’s not based on fact or anything I kinda just thoufjt that what was going to happen. Then again, idk why Betsy would go to LA for that if her replacement was going to be announced but who knows.

Very interesting connection -- seems a bit far fetched, but cool. 

 

They really need a good name because the show material is mediocre at best. Betsy didn't cut it.
