Discount codes for Kinky Boots/Wicked this weekend?

Hello,

My friend is visiting NYC for the first time and wants to see a Broadway show without breaking the bank (budget around $100.00 or much less). He wants a story-driven spectacle, befitting a first live theater experience. I talked him off the ledge of seeing The Lion King and narrowed down the possible shows to Wicked and Kinky Boots. I personally don't like Phantom Of The Opera so didn't push for that either.

Does anyone know any discount codes for either of these shows for this weekend, preferably Saturday? I doubt Wicked would be possible but figured Kinky Boots might have something. Also, any idea what are the chances of it ending up on TKTS?

Also open to any other recommendations. I think Miss Saigon is a pretty decent backup option, considering it will almost certainly be 50% off on TKTS and has some fierce performers and great songs (already ruled out Chicago - hit or miss; Hamilton, Hello, Dolly!, The Book Of Mormon - too expensive).

For this Saturday, I would be surprised if KB was not at TKTS. It's been there regularly for the last month and usually at 50%.

Discounts to Wicked are nonexistent. However, going by the guidelines you've set out, I would have recommended Miss Saigon for your friend in its place anyway!

There's a discount code for Kinky Boots, THM11 on Ticketmaster, but you'd be better off trying the $37 digital lottery and the $27 standing room first, then have TKTS as a last resort, considering there's a very good chance it will be on there this weekend. As far as Miss Saigon is concerned, you'd probably be able to score $39.50 rush tickets, since they're very easy to get. With Book of Mormon, there's a $50 digital lottery, a $32 in-person lottery, and $27 standing room. Finally, even Hello, Dolly! is a possibility, with $47 standing room, and, after those are sold out, $59 last row of the balcony tickets, which are really not as bad as they sound. So, all in all, you have a lot of options for shows on a budget.

What is the best place to track discounts? Nytix or Tdf? Thanks.

Broadway box and Theatermania are the two that I seem to do well by.   TDF is great (as a member, not standing in line) when they have a show you want.  I don't "do" the line anymore.
