I really loved this interview with Betsy Wolfe. It's really long, but in-depth about her Waitress and Carousel characters and her career choices.

She's just an incredible human.

Simply put, Betsy is one of my favorite people on Broadway.

She's a star, and I hope she finally gets some award recognition this spring for Carousel. Also, shout-out to The Interval for putting consistently great and thoughtful pieces out there.

EDIT: ...ugh, gutted about her withdrawing from Carousel. Betsy Wolfe interview on The Interval

Its crazy how so much of this interview, while clearly about her Frozen experience and other choices she has made in her career, seems to resonate with the recent Carousel announcement.

^^See, that's interesting, because there's that quote that seems to heavily allude to HER leaving Frozen, but I wonder if she meant Carousel instead...I meant, It kinda makes sense, the Interval article is only a week old or so, but obviously her leaving has been in private talk for a bit considering this announcement yesterday...I wonder if that's what she was referencing but obviously couldn't say exactly what it was just yet, so we're back to the usual "what happened with Frozen" debate....I just want to know what her conflict is, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Interviews are written some time before they are published.  I think Betsy is one of the most talented Axtress/Singers to come along in a long time, but there seems to be a lot of BS in this interview.

I think her departure from FROZEN has likely been turned into a bigger conspiracy than it is. She did the workshops under the direction of Alex Timbers, and a different director took over with a very different vision for the material, and its very understandable (probably expected) that he might select a different leading lady to mark his different vision.

We shouldn't cry for Betsy Wolfe, she is obviously right at the peak of her career and is being selected for plum roles, whether she ends up playing them on Broadway or not.
