Yep. I'm (sort of) lucky because I'd booked first preview, and they have moved me to the new first preview. Great...except for the non-refundable travel and hotel for the original dates. Might have been able to sweet-talk the hotel into changing my booking, but I'd still lose the train fare so looks like I'll have to find something else to see in November.
Still, people are flying in from all over the world, some in groups, so I should count my blessings!
Seriously everything I hear about this production seems like a gd mess! What's going on over here? Do they not have reliable people running things? So glad my tickets are for later but I am very doubtful of it being anywhere as good as Broadway.
What a foolish, imbecilic response. If the theatre restoration fell behind schedule, that bears no reflection on the quality of the show that is going into it.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
It;s very common for the first, or first few, previews to be canceled. I'm sure seeing the original West End cast will be the next best thing to seeing the original Broadway cast.
As the linked story in the original post says in its first paragraph:
HAMILTON will re-open the brand-new Victoria Palace Theatre with previews now beginning on 6 December 2017 rather than 21 November 2017 as originally announced. Following a multi-million pound expansion and restoration to the listed building, the Victoria Palace Theatre will open two weeks later than previously announced, with the need to reschedule 16 performances.
It's a theatre restoration issue. Not a fault of the production going into the building.
