Talk of it potentially closing has started to pop up on the boards over the last few months. Grosses look like they're on the decline.
It's been declining, but it still has a huge tourist draw. I can't see it closing before the end of the year.
There's already a tour running.

Which is why CollegeDreamer asked about a SECOND one, I'd presume. I don't think there's a clamoring for a 2nd Tour - there's a plenty of shows on the road, with a lot more to come. If The Temptations musical comes to fruition, I expect the current tour to probably not tour for more than 2-3 years.

Kara Lindsay will play Cynthia Weil for rest of the year. While it's perfect casting, Chilina's return sort of implies closing by end of year to me. What do you guys think?
Laurel Harris is in the ensemble of Beautiful and covers Carole, it would be absolutely incredible to see the two of them on together. Kara started her wicked journey opposite Laurel.
I wouldn't be so quick to say that Beautiful's grosses are in decline. In it's three previous falls on Broadway, the show has maintained or improved on its summer numbers, with both 2015 and 2016 seeing $100,000-$300,000 increases in weeks following Labor Day over what it was doing during the "peak" summer months.
We saw this born out again last week, as it had the biggest week-to-week increase other than "Great Comet," which obviously closed on Sunday. It just might be that the audience for "Beautiful" isn't the one that comes to the city for summer vacation, but rather plans trips in the fall for business or to avoid tourists.

I love Kara Lindsay. I've never had any interest in this show, but maybe I'll finally go see it now.
If it has no original score, than it is not a new American Musical no matter how entertaining it may be.
So say I, a person of no authority whatsoever.

Right? She's not an original cast member and I believe it was the plan from the get go to have her return after the Toronto run on the tour.
^Yes. Kara was only scheduled to play the role until New Year's Eve while Jessica has been off filming Mamma Mia 2 and she is to return to the role after that.
I saw BEAUTIFUL two weeks ago and really loved it. Chilina was fantastic, and though I was initially disappointed to miss Jessica Keenan Wynn, Kara Lindsay won me over!
The finale had me in tears, I must confess...
