A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour will be starting up in Somerville, NJ on January 20, 2018. The tour continues through Sarasota, FL(Apr 24-25); Panama City, FL(Apr 27); Jacksonville, FL(Apr 28); Kansas City, MO(May 29-Jun 3); then touring throughout Asia in June - August.

Interesting. I don't think we NEED this, I'd rather see an original play, but with the powers behind it, I'm sure it will be great.

I recall a version of this at Papermill Playhouse. It must be 25 years ago, easily. I don't recall much about it except that it wasn't very good and, for some reason, did not translate well to the stage.

I always wondered why Horton Foote never took a stab at a stage version. I trust Sorkin will remain true to the work and won't feel the need to update or "revise" it.

Wasn't this planned to be a TV adaptation? I swear I remember Rudin and Sorkin were teaming up do a live TV play. Let me go find receipts.

Edit - ugh, that was Sorkin's A Few Good Men (link). Link says early 2017 air date. Well, this never happened. NBC website says "coming soon", whatever that means.

Not sure about Rudin, but Sorkin is definitely behind NBC's live A Few Good Men happening sometime in the future with Alex Baldwin (not Mockingbird).

I hope this version eventually becomes available to for other companies to produce. The current stage adaptation by Chris Sergel is very poor, with tons of extremely dramatic moments related to the audience via narration. Remember, the first rule of creative writing? Show don't tell!

Except that many high school English teachers will not have the same students tomorrow as they will in December 2018 which is in a new academic year. Departments, I guess, will just have to estimate how many people will be interested and make a bulk order and then wait until next September to tell that class.

And add to that, MOST schools cannot spend money from THIS year's budget, for NEXT year's activities. I know I can't. My drama club can....but I can't make that decision for them (the students - they determine what we see each year.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

how exciting...AARON SORKIN is a genius writer...i loved his movie STEVE JOBS...one of the most articulate and verbose movies i have ever seen...hopefully Sorkin will put some fire into this version that will make this work for the stage...
