I went to the box office today, discount code in hand, knowing exactly what seats I wanted in the mezz after looking at the chart on ticketmaster this morning.

Gave the woman at the box office the code and the date, and she says 'I have 2 great tickets available in the orchestra, row J seats 2 & 4 with the discount.' I was a little surprised since I had looked at TM earlier and thought that entire area was greyed out - the best seats available with an aisle (for my friend who is tall) were in the mezz. I took them because she said they were better, but I'm wary now... I looked at a future performance where thesee same seats are available for $179 and the two seats BEHIND it in row K and the two seats further away (6 and 8 ) are $225. How does that make any sense? Is there something wrong with these seats?

I don't understand the price differences either, happens on pretty much every show... when I was looking at Frozen tickets it was the same thing, the same seat had different prices depending on the day, varying from $117 to over $250...

I've had K 2 and 4 for Waitress through Audience Rewards before, they are great seats, nothing wrong with them. Hope you enjoy the show!!

You have GREAT seats. IMO there is a little more leg room in the orchestra at Waitress.  You can't really do better.

LxGstv - Row K seats 2 & 4 (the seats you had) are listed as mid-premium ($225). Mine are the two right in front of that, listed as standard seats. So bizarre.

KathyNYC2 - Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Well, it was 2.000 audience rewards points + $42 per ticket, so it was an excellent deal I would say...

Honestly, I the difference between K and J is most likely minimal, it will be even better to be a bit closer!

Wow that's awesome. I guess my only concern would be the rake, if it happens to flatten out at that row or something. (I'm short). Sat in the last row of BoM once- it was so flat and the seats weren't staggered on that row so I could barely see over the heads. If anything my friend will be on the aisle so as long as she's good that's really what I care about most!

I forget, but think I may have had these as house seats before, so if you're going soon, maybe they weren't needed by the production?

Theater seats don't have fixed prices, though. Premium and mid-premium and whatever else only exist if people buy them at that price. When I saw Sara in Waitress, I was in a "premium" seat. I just waited until it didn't sell and grabbed it for regular price.

The tickets are for end of september. If you look at the  prices on Ticketmaster those 2 are lower priced than other seats around them. Super weird.

Nothing unusual. Same as buying airline seats. By a certain date, some computer algorithm wants to have so many seats sold, and they will adjust the prices to make sure that happens.
