Anyone know how Anastasia is doing? I'll be in nyc in april 2018 and really want to see it. But tickets are not available yet and Hamilton will release new tickets next week. So if Anastasia is closing before april I want to book tickets to Hamilton. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I think it's safe to say Anastasia will be around for a while. I'm sure they will release a new block of tickets.

I'd go see Hamilton over Anastasia.

I prefer Anastasia over Hamilton (cue the screaming and disbelief). No but seriously Anastasia is doing very well. They have extremely healthy ticket sales and it's basically a hit.

Feel free to judge, but I much prefer Anastasia to Hamilton (and I absolutely love Hamilton). Anastasia is in my top 3 favorite shows of all time.

Um, I enjoyed Anastasia myself, but Hamilton is on a significantly different level.

But to answer your question, Drew, Anastasia is on its way to becoming a hit. Early to mid-2018 will be a safe bet to catch it, though I'm doubtful that the extraordinary Christy Altomare will still be Anya.

I completely agree. There is no contest between the two.

I would say if you can get tickets to Hamilton, get them, and worry about Anastasia later. If, for some reason, you don't want to see it come April, you'll have no problem selling them, and you can just get tickets to Anastasia. It's on TKTS regularly these days, so I'm sure you'll still be able to get decent seats right up until the last minute. Like Broadway Concierge said, though, some of the original cast will probably be gone.

I agree completely (it's actually my number one favorite). I absolutely adore Hamilton, but Anastasia holds sentimental value to me.

I enjoyed Anastasia, but it is completely unfair to compare Anastasia to Hamilton.

Not to be confused with Dave19.

I'm right there with you. This production has done wonders for my life, in many ways.

I highly recommend Anastasia for Christy Altomare's performance.

Thank you all for your replies! Really appreciated. I thought I better do Anastasia this time bc I don't know if it'll still be running when I return to ny in 1-2 years after my visit. I know Hamilton will stay for years to come, so I'll see that one someday. Ofcourse I hope most of the original cast will still be there. I love christy.

DrewJoseph, they're releasing a big block of tickets tomorrow, by the way.
