Princess Mary, Great Comet Question

Yesterday at Great Comet I was relieved to see that none of the principal characters/actors were out, and that the board in the lobby only listed replacements for ensemble members. However, when the show started, Princess Mary was definitely not being played by Gelsey Bell. Now, I know that the actress usually playing Mary also performs with the ensemble but wouldn't they understudy board list the replacement as a replacement for Mary? Not just ensemble? Or is her role not considered 'principal' enough?

Gelsey Bell is no longer in the show. According to IBDB, Courtney Bassett is playing the role.

Gelsey is out of the show till the 18th of this month. I believe she was out most of August as well, but anyway Courtney (I don't remember her last name) has been bumped up from the ensemble to cover her track while she is absent.

Courtney was great as Mary anyways!

I actually liked Courtney better than Gelsey. Thought Courtney just looked so right for the role.

I enjoyed Gelsey, but her voice is a bit shrill to me. Courtney's voice is smoother.
