Can anyone remember the exact quote from Ralph and Gus about today and tomorrow?

Love that part!

He is going to join the Hamilton cast in Chi. He told me that on Saturday night. It's amazing for him!!

I am so heartbroken and sad about this show closing but yesterday turned out so amazing and I feel like I got really nice closure (if that makes sense), so I am ultimately happy, just can't help feeling sad. My friends and I were there really early just sitting on the steps under the marquee - Katy walked by to go inside, we weren't gonna bother her, just wave and smile, but she saw us first and immediately walked over. Chatted for a few mins, asked how we were doing, I talked about how sad I was then stopped myself and was like I shouldn't even talk it's gotta be so hard being IN the show, and she was so sweet and went on about how all feelings are valid and we're a part of it too, and then we chatted about bandstand. It was really really nice, and the fact that she came up to us meant a lot too, it wasn't like we stopped her on her way in or anything. Similarly, we went to get water at starbucks and as we walked out Josh Lamon walked in - he saw us and said Hi guys!!! And grabbed his coffee that I guess he ordered online because it took 2 seconds. Again, we weren't gonna bother him, we just said hi back on our way out, but he hurried to catch up with us and also asked how we were feeling / thanked us for being so involved with the show, and walked the whole way  with us back to the theater. I don't know - just the fact that he chose to walk with my friend and I to the theater on his closing night was so touching and special (at stagedoor he gave me a big hug and kiss on the cheek too). So much more happened at stagedoor but this is already long so I'll spare you guys. But Andy must have stayed for almost 2 hours - we went to leave and he was all the way down the street corner with the last 5 people, and we were going to that diner, so we stopped to say bye and thank him again and he hugged all of us. I love this whole cast and show so much.

Yes that was some real dedication from the cast at stage door! I was about 3/4 of the way down the line and Andy got to us at 7:20pm, an hour and a half after the show ended.

GROUNDHOG DAY APPRECIATION THREADHere's my (almost..) complete quote poster! I got the entire cast including swings, as well as Danny Rubin, Matthew Warchus, and Tim Minchin. Only person missing is gerard, who i met several times but never a day I had the poster. Hoping he goes to flea or bwaycon so it can be completed. Everyone wrote their favorite show quotes except kevin, who told me a story about rehearsals and the "alternative" name for his character, which he wrote down (the swinging weiner man), and camden, who wrote JOY!!!, something they would say backstage a lot

Andy has posted his "final thoughts" on GHD on Instagram, and it is wonderfully moving.

“When you are part of something this inspired, deeply meaningful, humorous and exuberant all you want is to have everyone in the world see it and hear it and examine it over and over. I wanted everyone to see what I see.”

PHIL

No matter what I do, every day is today. Even tomorrow.

RALPH

Tomorrow is today?

PHIL

It will be tomorrow.

RALPH

Then today is already tomorrow.

GUS

Other way around.

RALPH

So when’s yesterday?

GUS

It’s today, Ralph.

I'm still in mourning. I've never loved a show that closed so quickly. I was lucky to be at that historic first preview, then one of the final previews before opening and then again at the final performance. I just can't understand how this show didn't catch on. It has all the makings of a crowd pleaser. I mean, with all the shows I've seen, there are very few that have huge moments like this one has, or performances  (yes of course, Andy) that you can't get out of your head. This level just doesn't come around that often. That car chase is a marvel. I'll never forget the first time I saw it, I was in awe and feeling completely euphoric just enjoying it. Not every show has moments with that kind of power. Hope is a masterpiece. I just watch in wonder. And what an ensemble- so much talent and heart. There is so much damn genius up there, from every design, staging and directing standpoint. How Tim Minchin covers just about every musical style so brilliantly and makes the perfect choices for each scene. His lyrics are supremely witty and smart and beautiful. And i just don't know how Danny Rubin could possibly expand on what was already a brilliant movie. He made an incredibly fleshed out and satisfying musical version. This is a show I will never, ever forget.

There are so many like us that loved it so fiercely, I just can't for the life of me understand why it didn't have the long run it deserved. It completely baffles me. Someone posted earlier in the thread that Tim Minchin is done with Broadway. Funny to read that now after I had a chance to tell him how much I loved the show and to "keep on writing them!" Ugh I hate commercial theater. This show got us where it counted. Their fans will carry this show forever. That poor cast that poured their hearts out 8 shows a week in what has to be one of the most exhausting gigs ever, and they're only given 6 months to share this gift with the world. This show deserved so much more.

And I apparently have the corresponding "abbreviated" version of TSWM on mine as Kevin's quote (mine was signed right after SWC's window card

Just want to second pretty much every word you said.

As someone who has lived my whole life believing that "tomorrow" is always the answer, this show dug up that life view and planted something entirely new and unexpected in its place - and at the exact point in my life where "tomorrow" wasn't cutting it any more, and I was desperate to understand what other possible solution there could be, Groundhog Day taught it to me: today is the answer. Always today.

I'd never gone to any show more than twice before GHD, which I saw 5 times, completely unheard of for me/my friends/family. (I stopped telling people I was going back, I felt embarrassed!) And while obviously I enjoyed the show, I couldn't really understand why I had to keep coming back. Now it makes perfect sense to me - changing a life long perspective doesn't happen in one night. I felt the pull to come back, and come back, and come back, until GHD's truths had truly absorbed.

I don't know how I would've made it through this summer were it not for that first fortuitous visit to GHD, chosen semi-randomly from a TKTS booth. I will forever be grateful to have been blessed to experience Groundhog Day. In me, and in so many others, Groundhog Day will live forever. I hope that brings some small comfort to the cast, creators, and team behind this one-in-a-million show.

Does anyone have any more info on the planned Groundhog Day Reunion at Feinstein's 54 Below?

https://54below.com/events/humans-punxsatawney-groundhog-day-reunion/

It says more cast to be announced.  Just wondering if Andy Karl and Barrett Doss will be there.  Since it's a concert, I'm assuming they'll be doing songs from the show.  And if they're doing songs from the show, wouldn't Andy Karl and Barrett Doss almost have to be there?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Well, other actors can always sing the Rita and Phil songs GROUNDHOG DAY APPRECIATION THREAD

Andy in particular has made no secret of how much he loves the show, but I'm sure his participation in the reunion concert will depend on what he has going on come February.  He's mentioned he'd like to do more TV and film, so it's entirely possible he'll be working on a project in LA during that time.  Same goes for Barrett.

Still, as fans we can certainly hope!
