Sad to bring this up, but now that Bandstand is out...

Dreamgirls? Or if Carousel will be a smaller production, maybe that.

Carousel? Mean Girls? I'm not sure which show would fit best. Mean Girls could probably play here with no problems.

I think this is a better fit for Carousel than the Imperial would be

Mean Girls makes sense to me. Do we know what owners are courting it? I've heard Nederlander and Jujamcyn houses mentioned for MG but no Shuberts. Could also see MG at the Nederlander if War Painf closes before spring.

These threads are getting ridiculous.

The show only announced closing a couple of hours ago...

Current Avatar: Cynthia Erivo, bringing down the house in The Color Purple.

Why is it ridiculous when these are the actual discussions going on with the people in charge?

What? When a show announces closing, that means the theatre is about to become vacant, which means it's an appropriate time to discuss what's coming next... it's only "ridiculous" to actively discuss tenants before closing notices are posted.

Of course these discussions are already going on behind the scenes. No landlord wants an empty building. He wants $$$. Nothing ridiculous about us speculating.

Okay, so Iceman Cometh is cometh-ing to the Jacobs in March. Do we think it will actually be vacant for 5-6 whole months after Bandstand?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was. Theatres have been vacant between shows for longer. The Belasco was vacant for almost nine months between Blackbird and the revival of Glass Menagerie for example. It'll be roughly around the same length too for the Marquis between On Your Feet closing and the Jimmy Buffet musical coming in in the beginning of 2018.
