It's hilarious. If you know the Harry Potter series, you'll definitely love it. If not, you still would probably find it pretty funny though a lot would go over your head.
I highly recommend this show! It's really funny, very cute, and if you are a HP fan who was into the fandom during the heydays, you have to see this show.
We saw it twice in its prior location. Highly recommended if you are a HP fan. If not, many of the jokes will go over your head (whether or not your reflexes are so fast that you will catch them)
If you saw it before New World and loved it, it's completely different now so I'd definitely recommend going again.

love, love, LOVE this show! So much fun, so much heart, so funny!
They are doing a "cleaner version" at matinees for younger theatergoers from what I have heard.
Has anyone done the TodayTix seats for Puffs? It says they don't offer restricted view seats but the $27 tickets say partial view. Just wondering if anyone would know- thanks!

Is it actually different at the evening shows, or just the child friendly matinees?
My understanding is that the langiage is cleaned up as well as one particular improvised section for the matinees but the story stays intact.
Saw Puffs last year and laughed pretty much the entire show. I'm a Puff myself and so it was so fun to see the show with my friends who are all Puffs.
The creative team did a great job with the show
Anyone know how the view is from right and left mezzanine at Stage 5? I would imagine the seats closer to the stage are more obstructed. Are they movable chairs?
I'm also very interested in the view from the side mezzanine in stage 5. According to the box office salesman, the view is pretty bad. He said that the view is blocked by light instruments and you are basically viewing the top of the heads of the performers.
However, based on some of the photos on instagram, it seems like the view is not that bad..
also, I found it interesting that these tickets were sold as same price as the orchestra seats, if you don't apply the discount codes.
Anyways, It will be helpful if anyone who saw the production from the mezzanine can share their experience. Thanks!
I saw it from the side mezz tonight, and the view was fine. I wasn't blocked by any lighting, etc. There were a few things that happened extreme side that I had to strain for, but nothing terrible. I was able to see all facial expressions, etc., and I was in the seat closest to the stage. I'm sure the seats further back were even less obstructed.
Hello! How different is the Sat/Sun matinee "kid friendly" version of Puffs from a regular performance? We are adults and, while we're not seeking raunchy dialogue, we don't want a sanitized production. Alas the weekend matinees work much better for our schedule. Is there a significant difference in the two versions? If we book the matinee will we diminish the experience?
FYI: Several in our group are avid Potter fans--others are merely HP acquainted.
I have only seen the adult version from row D orchestra.
The stage is very low; I think that front row orchestra is the best seat for this show.
The side mezz looked like it had a good view. If you are in the front seat of the left side, you get to see he who must not be named up close.
The adult version has some cursing in it, maybe 5, 6 times. Nothing else seemed to need changing.
Hope this helps
I've seen it twice (once in each venue) and its amazing. Laughed the entire show. They also now do fan appreciation nights once a month which are readings and those are super fun as well

Thank you all. Sounds like family-friendly isn't sufficiently different to change our plans to an evening performance. Can't wait!

My relatives are going to see the show next week and I'm undecided if I should join them. I have not read any of the Harry Potter books or seen the films.

I went to see the filmed version tonight and thought it was funny - I laughed out loud several times. A few parts that dragged, but overall I enjoyed it. I wish more shows would get filmed for theatrical release. There was a pretty good crowd there tonight. More than I expected, anyway.
We are Harry Potter fans and just got home from seeing the recording--we laughed quite a bit, but over-all we thought it was just OK. Glad we didn't take the train to the city to see it.

Can't speak to this film in particular, but I'm going to guess that this kind of thing would always be a bit better IN the theater. It's cute, it's funny. It's not Shakespeare. Or even Moliere.
