Hi! Anyone know when they will announce the cast for the upcoming Love Never Dies US tour? The show is slated to open in about two months from now and no word yet on who will star. Any thoughts?
They're killing me. Tickets for my area go on sale two weeks from Friday and I really would like to see a casting announcement before then, so I'll know whether to buy just one date or several. If the leads are only serviceable (e.g., if Christine can't pull off the big climb at the end of the title song), I'll probably go just once; if they're strong, I'll be seeing it 2-3 times.

If this is an appropriate rehearsal period, then there will have to be a casting announcement within the next two weeks or so, right?

According to what I heard last night at Broadway in Chicago's concert, Garðar Thór Cortes will be in the tour cast. I'm going to assume he will be playing Phantom.

This would be VERY good news! Please elaborate - what exactly did they say, and who said it?

The prospect of Gardar Thor Cortes playing the Phantom in the tour prompted me to do a bit of Googling, and I found this clip of him in the German production, which was also based on the Australian version:
What's particularly interesting about this recording is the addition (at about 3:00) of a lead-in to The Beauty Underneath where the Phantom urges Gustave to "Sing! Sing for me!" just as he did with Christine at the end of the title song in the original. This segment was not in the London or the Australian production, and I like it very much; it much more effectively realizes the Phantom's suspicion that...

I ran into him as I left the concert. I asked him if he was going to be part of the tour, and he replied in the affirmative. I said something to the effect "that's awesome" and "I look forward to seeing you then." He said something to the effect of "see you in February." (which is when the tour arrives in Chicago)

Oh, I didn't realize he was actually there - that's very encouraging! By any chance was there mention of who will play Christine? In several of the video clips of him in the German production, he performed with Rachel Anne Moore, and I really like her voice. Would be great if they bring both of them on.

I'm honestly curious if this will even still be open when it's supposed to hit my city. I don't plan on seeing it, but I did plan on seeing Whistle Down the Wind and was disappointed when that tour closed early.
Meghan Picerno is an excellent choice for Christine.

This photo of Andrew Lloyd Webber gazing lovingly at his Phantom tells you all you need to know about his mental state while cooking up the plot for this atrocious musical.
Saw the video and enjoyed it enough to see it live. Looking at the touring schedule, it is not staying long at all in each city. It would be nice if they did a limited run in NYC.
