Very exciting! But I'd hate to work in that box office today...
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
Linda is Bette's understudy. Donna Murphy is only the Tuesday performance Dolly and when Bette is on an official day off/vacation. Donna isn't Bette's standby which would have her filling in every time Bette unexpectedly has to miss a performance.
Unless the producers offered the audience to stay and return for another performance of Bette's at a later date. But yeah, no pressure on Linda and the box office must be a zoo!!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Same. I'd have to imagine the show started late due to this last minute announcement.

I can't imagine what that poor box office staff must be going thru. But hopefully they trained well for a day like to today. I remember when Cher cancelled last minute in Vegas. It was insanity. And people get emotional and nasty.
This is what happens, sadly, when producers bank 98% on a megastar in a live show.
Part of the reason why I quit retail. I don't even wanna think about the pandemonium at the Shubert today. At the same time, I also want pictures of it.
Nice try Brody, you had me going until I saw the bloody dude.
