Mine is the name of the flamboyantly delusional director in Waiting For Guffman (probably my favorite non-musical film).

Incidentally, Roy Scheider would go onto starring as Joe Gideon (Bob Fosse) in Bob Fosse's ALL THAT JAZZ.

Mine is just a word I made up a long time ago. My then-boyfriend and I were talking about meat and we got to thinking: if cows are beef, pigs are pork, etc., what would humans be? So we came up with "hork." Since then, it's sort of become my default user name, but now I wish I had used something Broadway related (I think of good user names all the time, but I'm stuck with this one).

I worked on a show that featured sword fights prominently so I picked my favorite weapon (sabre) and since i am of the female persuasion gender wise ( sabre female didn't have quite the ring to it) lady - since I also am fascinated by class structures, lady seemed a good fit  and its been my nom du interweb for the last 15+ years.

Mine was like my 12th attempt at coming up with an unclaimed username. I wanted to involve my name (which begins with the letter J) and my love of Broadway. It's a pretty terrible username though. Especially since my love of theatre now goes far beyond the restrictive confines of Broadway. I definitely wish l could change it, but it's not important enough to me to create another account.

I'm from a place in Scotland called Fort William and my community was called The Plantation as it was situated on the side of a huge hill and was once filled with greenery, it was always considered a poor area - despite the fact that it's not, I had absolutely glorious views growing up with a mountain outside my front window and a mountain outside my back window. Most people would kill for views like the one I grew up with.

Anyway, the youngesters of Fort William always call it "the plannie (plan-ee)" and if you were from there you were "a plannie tink" with "tink" being a Scottish slang word for a poor person. In High School I just embraced the name and owned it. In 2008 I started using it as a username and have done it ever since.

Wow, these are all so lovely! It's amazing to get a sense of everyone's personalities (beyond just show preferences and the like). It's funny that the way a whole community knows you can be decided so randomly (or meaningfully. These are running the gamut and I love it).

Anyway, I picked this name because I've always used Ado Annie in Oklahoma to describe the kind of roles I usually get cast as. I thought it would be funny to combine her free-spirited American character with the stuffy British family from GGLAM, so "D'Ysquith" it was.
