Boston Pops July 4th - Broadway Connections

Didn't see anything posted so thought I'd throw this out there for any who might be interested - there's a couple Broadway ties with this year's Boston Pops July 4th Fireworks Spectacular, in the form of Brian Stokes Mitchell and Leslie Odom Jr.  There are also appearances by Melissa Etheridge and Andy Grammer.

Went to the rehearsal concert tonight, everyone was great but Mitchell was particularly impressive and sang a brand new song from Alan Menken.  I had only seen him in Shuffle Along so it was a nice treat that he was added to the lineup.

Odom was excellent as well and did three songs, including a selection from Hamilton.  And as always the Pops are delightful.

The special is airing (tomorrow of course) on Bloomberg TV but there are all sorts of streaming and alternative means of taking it in.  More info here: Boston Pops July 4th

Watched this tonight. Indeed Brian Stokes Mitchell was impressive!
