Wow! What an increase for Indecent! If the advance is like that, the extension makes sense. Sad to see Sweat not having the same fate.

Imagine that would be due to the idea that it was closing this weekend. Next week will tell if they really have that kind of an advance

Book anyway. The worst that could happen is that they'll refund you if it closes. I think it has life until January, but that's being a bit generous.

Whats unsafe about purchasing tickets?  You'd get your money back if it closes.

Groundhog Day and Bandstand racing each other to the bottom while A Bronx Tale just keeps chugging along. Can't predict baseball, I mean showbiz.  

Looking at their ticketing pages for this week, I expect an even bigger drop.  I doubt either makes it past Labor Day which is disappointing.

Willie4316 - I agree.  It will be interesting to see how Indecent does this week after getting a bump from their closing notice fake out.

WOW Indecent! Even if it cant gross like that till August its nice to know that have some audience. That Waitress number looks promising!

Curious as to how Dolly doesn't have much of a change despite the added performance.  At last Tuesday's Donna performance there were pockets of empty seats in the Mezzanine and the prices were much cheaper. That doesn't appear reflected here.  I guess we would see a more accurate take during Bette's vacation?  Just curious.   I don't know how these things work.

The word from my friends who work there is that there are very few seats sold for the extension. 

Hopefully that changes.

Bandstand did not do that bad.   I booked for the first week in August. I hope I still get to see it.

Ironic that Indecent may have been the biggest beneficiary of the Tony Awards.  Groundhogs Day and War Paint were hurt by the lousy numbers they did.  Disappointed that Bandstand appears to have gotten only a tiny shot in the arm; but, on the other hand...the Tonys are probably keeping that company employed for the summer, which is a plus.

Indecent is sustainable at LAST week's gross. And both GHD and Bronx are sustainable as is, until the year end. And Bandstand is probably sustainable as well, at least for a while. It seems like some folks posting in this thread are sniffing glue.

I agree and disagree. This week will be hard for them to gain the attendance quick enough to know. Many didn't know until a few days ago that they could come. Also, July 4th is one of the worst weeks on Broadway for tickets in general. I would give it two weeks to see how the numbers change.

Indecent still needs word of mouth. As they've been saying at the curtain call (I was there Saturday night), the extension is so last minute that people may not realize these performances exist. I'm hoping I can catch it one more time.

Waitress back in the $800,000-$900,000 range which seemed to be perfectly good for them during Jessie's run. Hopefully Betsy's numbers continue to rise a bit but otherwise, I'm happy they seem to be in a good place. 

Having finally seen the show, A Bronx Tale's numbers no longer baffle me. I do wonder how long they can keep finding an audience. It's a perfectly enjoyable show but Jersey Boys had the benefit of music people already knew and liked. I don't think it's a 1:1 equivalence. 

Just curious... any guesses as to why Indecent got a bump that Sweat did not? Was it just the directing win at the Tony's? (I don't know if lighting makes a difference to anyone deciding whether or not to see a play.) Were people not aware of the play beforehand? Was Vogel's tweet (and the press coverage) at all relevant?

On Thursday(?) last week they announced the run would remain open to the first half of August, so up until then people assumed that this was the closing week.

As much as I enjoyed Bandstand when I saw it in April and rooting for it, I agree with you and think the best it will do is to make it through the summer.

Hogan's maybe you are forgetting that the summer only last for...the summer. 

If these are the numbers for ghd now praytell what do you think they will be for those amazing sept Oct Nov months? 

Those numbers aren't sustainable when the tourists leave after labor day. They will drop back down into the 500k maybe 600k range. That's under op costs.

Interesting that Great Comet has leapt over the 100% gross mark. They haven't done that since the new year, I believe. I wonder if it's a bump from the Tonys or simply because Josh Groban is leaving next week.

You cannot infer from this data that War Paint was hurt by their performance at the Tony Awards - for all we know their grosses could have been even lower right now if they didn't perform. The advance was already slowing before the Tonys took place. It still looks like they have some potentially challenging times ahead.
