Interesting.

After I saw Hedwig, I began to wonder how Pink Floyd's The Wall would do on Broadway.

A little bizarre if you ask me. He'll sell out, but it's not exactly a concert setting the Walter Kerr.

Tickets are going to be insane for this! With 5 shows a week, it'll be about 40,000 seats for the entire run.... he sells out Melife Stadium in a few hours and that holds 80,000!

Isn't that where The Crucible was last year?

Why aren't they charging him rent?

This will sell out extremely quickly.
He can charge whatever he wants and will get it.

Did you read the article? They know they'll more than make up for it on alcohol sales. I would also speculate that should the full scale Born to Run musical come to fruition, there's probably a deal in place for it to play a Jujamcyn house.

How would I know they weren't charging rent had I not read it? Think before posting next time.
I was surprised because I've never heard of a theater not changing rent. Seems like they'd want rent money and money from alcohol sales, but you're speculation makes sense.

What will the curtain look like?

Question for those like Whizzer and anyone else who sees everything on Broadway, do you bother to go see stuff like this? I've been trying to see everything but I always skip these types of things and the one person shows like Tyson and Moore unless it's someone I actually wanna see.

There's only one person here who didn't think before posting and that's you.
The Boss could do a concert residency in literally any theater he wanted. Jujamcyn sweetens the pot and says "we won't charge you rent if you do it here." What is there not to get?

And why is it bizarre? Musicians have been doing Broadway engagements for decades. The appeal is the theater setting.

Some posters can't read. According to the story, Bruce wants to play a smaller venue. According to the story, this won't be his usual stadium show.

How many bathrooms at the Kerr? All that alcohol scares me

Does the Kerr even have the capacity for this? Feel like the flow in that theater is awful. One tiny little bar in the back.

How much are these tickets going to be "scalped" for? Will it beat "Hamilton" prices? - lol

It does not at all ...that tiny section in the back left corner of the theatre lobby is the bar with room for 1 bartender and nothing upstairs!

I feel like, yeah, sure the Marquis? Sure. That'd make sense. But this is like a historic, little play house. And sure, I know his set and production will be stripped down, but still. It's a concert. People are going to want to have fun, have drinks. I mean, at the least the shows I've been to, you get drinks throughout the show, etc.

The Walter Kerr is going to need a renovation after this run.

While a gorgeous theater, maybe not the best one suited for a rock concert...
