Anastasia Stage Door |
We had no problem getting a photo and autograph with the cast. They were all very sweet and took their time meeting us
The Anastasia stage door is one of the most pleasant experiences, at least for me. The cast members are very gracious, and pleased to sign and take pics.
The best part of this stage door, though, is Christy Altomare. She takes her time with everyone, and makes sure everyone gets special attention. And she hugs practically everyone at the stage door. Towards the end of her signing, she will typically stay in one place, and security will have people line up, kinda like meeting characters at Disney. I don't think I've ever encountered a kinder Broadway performer.
Just such a positive experience.
Seconding that Anastasia is seriously the nicest stage door experience, with the exception of the crowd of about a dozen high-school aged girls who were right behind me and SHRIEKED right into my ear when Derek came out, so loudly that I flinched (visibly, I guess, because he laughed about it with me). Everyone came out pretty promptly on the night that I was there, except John Bolton who had quite a lot of visitors. Spots along the barricade get taken pretty quickly, but the cast and other fans are really nice about passing stuff forward to get signed. And like the previous poster said, Christy is a sweetheart. Derek too, although people are clamoring for his attention much more loudly so he tends to get interrupted whenever he starts a conversation. Mary Beth is also extremely gracious.
When I went for a matinee performance, not everyone came out. I believe Nicole (child Anastasia), Christy, Derek, and some ensemble members came out that day.
I saw this back in previews and it definitely ranks as one of my best stage door experiences (even if the show itself didn't).
Everyone is so sweet and friendly. I geeked out over Caroline O'Connor (I LIVE for Moulin Rouge) and Mary Beth Peil, but Christy Altomare is just so humble and sweet and I just want to put her in my pocket and take her home. I complimented her performance (one of the strongest aspects of the night) and she almost broke into tears.
I would gladly see Anastasia again just so I could go to the stage door. And I echo all those who say it's a very controlled experience, especially given the demographic. MANY OTHER SHOWS can take a cue to how they run things at the Broadhurst
Anastasia has a great stage door, everyone is so friendly and kind. However, when I went to see the show, there was a lot of pushing and screaming (which is totally understandable, I'll admit I did it too); and an incident involving a woman in front of me that was disgusting (it wasn't related to the show though, so it didn't tarnish my experience). Everyone did sign my playbill and windowcard, and I even managed to get a picture with Christy. If you go see the show, you just have to stage door. It's such a positive experience for everyone involved.
What was incredible was that they remembered from Harvard and they were OH MY GOD HI OH MY GOD! John gave me a hug and Christy literally bursted into tears and that made me sob.
I also stopped by the stage door after Great Comet and Christy again started crying and she said I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!! What a ray of sunshine!
I saw the show twice in previews and opening night and it was such a good stage door experience. Everyone was nice and friendly and came out to sign and chat. The cast is lovely

I know, right?! Me too. I was already taken by her beautiful, endearing performance, and she already made me a fan during the show. She is incredibly adorable and genuinely sweet at stage door. The most precious! I'm definitely keeping an eye out for anything else she might be up to!
It seems like the only ones stage dooring at this point in the run are Christy Altomare, Zach Adkins, Max Von Essen, Delilah Rose Pillow, and Lyrica Woodruff.
Did John Bolton, Mary Beth Piel and Vikki Lewis just stop stagedooring?
John came out when I was there a few weeks ago

Oh, that's good because on Instagram people post pictures of there signed playbills and I've seen those names consistently.
forgot about Wes Hart he usually stage doors too.
I could be wrong, but I think most people outside the super-fans don't even ask the ensemble performers to sign, which might be why the playbills posted online only have a few signatures. I'm fairly sure that a few of the ensemble men (James A. Pierce, Bruce Landry, and Kyle Brown) go down the stagedoor line on a regular basis, but I could be wrong.

James does it sometimes, but it's a hit-or-miss basis.

I would love to meet Bruce Landry he's one of the more well-known ensemble members the most well known would have to be Lyrica Woodruff because of Christy's Daily Lives.

Lyrica is such a sweetheart. I've been lucky enough to get to know her because of this show, and she's every bit as kind as Christy.

And there best friends too I Love Lyrica shes one of the best Ensemble members on Broadway.
this is so true!! lyrica was the only ensemble member to come out both times i saw the show. she's so sweet and bubbly like christy. zach isn't as much upfront, but if you engage in a conversation with him rather than straight up asking for a picture he's really sweet.
