Hello Dolly Standing Room |
I got SRO tickets this morning (Wed May 17) for tonight's performance. I got into the line at 9:55am. No idea what the view is but hopefully it's good! When I got to the box office they also had partial view tickets available still for $59 but the guy said SRO is a much better view so I went with that. Hope this helps!
I went on a Saturday, but I was there at 4am lol. Much different! The view was good, though. I had to lean to see a small portion of it but overall, it was not uncomfortable at all.
I saw the show last Wednesday evening, and woke up at 3:15 and was 5th in line by 3:45. View was decent, however in one of the scene's in Vandergelder's store when Cornelius and Barnaby are on the second level, you cannot see them at all. Also when Dolly enters in the title number at the top of the stairs, you do have to crouch to see her. Still for the price, I wasn't complaining!
I did it last Wednesday and got there at 1:30. I was second in line. The view is great, you miss all of 30 seconds maybe in one scene.
Yes. I certainly could have gotten there a few hours later but I wanted to make sure I got tickets. Of course, the first person there got there at 10PM.
Sooooo today was crazy. The first people arrived at 9am. 9 AM! I arrived at 9:25 and was 4th in line and got SRO (was offered $59 partial but the man at the BO was adamant that SRO was better view). Unbelievable show, but if you are short (5'4" and under) I highly discourage SRO. The bar was really high, the ladies next to me had to get booster seats to stand on.
Crazy cause it was a ghost town. Cause all y'all talk about on here is how people are showing up at 1am/3am and such
I'm in line now, arrived at 5:50am and there were 4 people in front of me, first person arrived at 4am. It's 7:08am and there are 10 people in line total, mostly for the matinée.
I got there at 11:45 last month and got SRO. The view was spectacular. (You can't see top of Horace's house which men go on, but that's it)

I give people like yourself all the credit in the world, I don't think I could comfortably handle standing for 2 1/2 hours to see this show.
Anyone know how frequently they sell SRO for Donna's shows. I know they don't sell out often.
Stood far right for Wed. matinee. Wall is high so I would say anyone 5'7" of under should not consider it. Noisy lobby was frustrating but someone employed by the theatre was attending to shushing people who were getting carried away, so it wasn't awful. Like earlier comments, the only scene that you can't see is btwn Cornelius & Barnaby up above in the Hay and Feed Store but it's not their 1st scene thankfully & they do come down during it. You could hear fine & even witness some of their shadows so I was thinking it was intentional staging at first. They pull a thick velvet curtain behind the far right but some light spill from late door openings still disrupted a few standees. Considering the high tkt costs, I guess it's not totally out of line - but they are charging too much for something that should sell for half of what it is, IMAO.

They offered it for a few performances during the second week of the spring break madness. But not since then. As you can tell from Telecharge there are plenty of seats in all sections and they only sell sro when the house is full.
