Help - Alice's (Linda Lavin) kitchen poster?

I was just watching an episode of Alice and noticed that Alice has several Broadway posters in her kitchen including Follies and Mame.  I can't figure out the poster to the left of Follies. Anyone know?

Well, now you've piqued my curiosity! You have to upload your picture to an image hosting site and paste the URL into the appropriate "Image Properties" box.

What a great eye Peggy! I'm sure that's the poster and I found this description of the show which sounds fascinating. Tom O'Horgan was a very 'out there' director but his work could be incredibly bold and stunning.

It was directed by Tom O'Horgan and starred Elizabeth Ashley. The set was designed by Robin Wagner and the lighting was by Jules Fisher. I forget who did the costumes. Our shop had built the piece-de-resistance of the show which was a perspective replica of the world famous Hollywood sign. The plot of this show, as I recall it, was based on the true story of a former child movie star who had no luck as an adult actor and who committed suicide by jumping off the sign.

Alice was filmed in LA so it may have just been a convenient choice for the set decorator, but having that particular poster framed on the wall adds a surprisingly rich detail to the character of Alice Hyatt.

It sounds like the show was actually a musical revue but essentially about the broken dreams of those trying to make it in Hollywood. An inspired choice I think for ALICE....

I worked for the producer, Zev Bufman, for a number of years, the last two in a large theater in Miami Beach. That poster hung above me in my office there.

When I asked some of Zev's longtime employees about the show, I got eye rolls and the premise Queen Alice quotes above. So I feel sure that much is correct.

ETA I never realized the show was a revue and I'm still not convinced. The people who had worked on the show simply said the plot was "indescribable", not that it had no plot. Perhaps the difference was unclear in the presentation.

No, Alice was "set" in Phoenix, Arizona but it was literally filmed on sets in the vicinity of Los Angeles, California. Do you seriously want to get into that level of petty nitpicking?

So sorry, Peggy. I wasn't nitpicking, just smiling at what I thought was the computer equivalent of a slip of the tongue.

But I now see it was *I* who was having the slip, a mental one and perhaps the sign of a small stroke. Please accept my apology.

Great catch, BTW! As I wrote, I lived with that poster for 2 years; and yet I didn't recognize it in the blur of the TV screen shot.

By the way, Alice is currently running on the LOGO channel.
