I don't know if anyone has said anything about this on here, but I saw on Carolee Carmello's instagram that they recently had a workshop of The Royal Family of Broadway by William Finn. I assumed that the project was dead, but apparently it's still kicking. I wonder if we may see it this season.
Not confirmed yet, but apparently Steve Martin's trying to get back to Broadway...

Bumping this thread because some users have been discussing upcoming shows as though they've been confirmed, when they've not yet been.

List updated with Meteor Shower announcement.
I bought tickets to the very first preview of The Band's Visit. I've never been to the first performance of anything before- anyone got advice on what to expect, if anything?
Also, we haven't heard anything about Carousel in a while. I hope Mr. Rudin won't pull another DOLLY with social media etc....

Oh god I hate how Rudin is acting with his Dolly social media bans. Love the show, hate the secluded nature of their advertising.

I'll be at the first preview too in the mezz!
Are there likely to be more musicals coming in the fall that haven't been announced? I'm coming in November and have tickets for Once on This Island and The Band's Visit. I had hoped to see Bandstand (knew it was a long shot) and Great Comet (so sad). I usually go more for musicals than plays, but it my only other choices are Spongebob and Margaritaville - I might be going to more plays. Just wondering if any other musicals are in the shadows.....

I'm not sure what one has to do with the other. Totally different shows, just the same director.

List updated with Travesties announcement.
Seriously disappointed by the low proportion of upcoming musicals this season.
agreed about being disappointed with the lack of [new] musicals coming in. Such a boring season currently lined-up considering the large amount of new musicals we had for 2016-17.

List updated with Latin History for Morons announcement (which I assume will be designated as a new play and not an "other" show, yes?).

Still so few new musicals. Producers out there should be jumping at the chance to get their shows in for this season!
^yep! That's why it's on the list!
the new musicals that haven't announced and I think are likely to come in: Mean Girls, Roman Holiday, and Hadestown. And in that order too.
Mean Girls can now be added to this list.
If Hadestown does come in, I could see it giving The Band's Visit a run for its money come Tony time.
I too am intrigued that Mean Girls is coming in so quickly, and how it will work onstage. The movie is like Amelie in that it is very "cinematic."

Agreed the movie is very cinematic... however unlike Amelie, the "cinematic" elements didn't make the movie. Mean Girls' writing is what makes it so good. I am nervous it's going to rehash some of the jokes from the movie, which is just awkward for everyone (You laugh because you should, but you already know the joke, not because it's a fresh joke)
