I rushed on Saturday at 6:30pm the seats were second row partial view far right of the orchestra. The seats were great! Maybe I missed 10 seconds of action, but I was really close to some other important parts. Hope this helps

If you get seats all the way house left (which I did) you miss ALL of the action involving the door and the mantle.  It's really a rip off.  If you're house right, I imagine you don't miss too too much, but not sure about the second level of the set.

saw it from second row center... very few, little portions happen with the door and the mantle on the left side, not that big of deal honestly.

Um I missed the entire scene where they were trying to hold stuff up against the wall and I couldn't see why.  I also couldn't see entrances and exits through the door, and there were SEVERAL gags involving the door.

I sat in partial view for "39 Steps" and hated it because I couldn't see most of the gags.

Anyone rush this recently? Same issues with seats and views?

What's line up/arrival been like?

I rushed two weeks ago on a Saturday and got there at about 9:55am and was 8th in line. I had an extreme side row C seat on the left side of the house and missed a lot with the mantle. I also completely missed the whole bit with the audio guy (Trevor, I think) who was in the box seating area right above me. The guy sitting behind me was telling me at intermission how he missed every joke involving the mantle.

Any updates on this? Still the same issues?

I rushed a few weeks ago and got far house left. It’s definitely partial view; you miss all the gags with the box right above you and the jokes with the mantel/picture- which is a shame, because those were some of my favorites when I first saw it.

When I first rushed back in May, I got a ticket right after box office opened (10:15ish- however long it took me to hustle from the August Wilson) on a Wednesday. My seat was front row center, which was a really great seat (even if I did have to twist around a bit).

The time I rushed a few weeks ago, on a two-show Saturday, I got to the box office at around 9:15, had like 12 people in front of me, and got far house left.

I want to say that the show was less popular in May, but I don’t really know. Didn’t see how many people got tickets before me when I first went, but I’m guessing that they sell front row/house right first, then do house left.

All that being said, the friend that I took with me a couple of weeks ago really did enjoy herself, even if we missed some jokes (I took the worse seat, to be fair. In my seat, I couldn’t even see the door!)

I rushed last week on Wednesday for the evening performance. Got to the box office at 1 p.m. and got B2 orchestra which gave me a completely full view of the stage. Although I could just see a little bit of Trevor in the box above me, I didn't have any issue figuring out what he was doing. Really great seat and it was a fantastic show. What a deal for $30.

Rushed yesterday (Thursday). Got there at 955, 5 mins before opening. There was one other guy in line.

My partner and I asked for four tickets and were given J 10 and 12 and K 10 and 12, right side. Great seats and didn’t miss anything.

Bumping because I'm looking to try for Saturday at 8pm, but won't be in the city until dinner time. Any updates on this/luck with last minute? From this thread, sound like we don't want to be seated far left.

Went this past Sunday fifteen minutes before the box office opened and there were about 5-6 people ahead of me. We got three rush tickets in the Orchestra, row H. They were on the side but full view, great show!

Bump

Planning to rush this successfully this summer. How early should someone arrive for good seats? And what seats did you get and how was the view? I read with far left seats you miss alot of the gags. Also I tried to rush this today, but the woman at the box office wouldn't tell me the location of the seats. She just said you'll get whatever the system spits out. Is this normal for this show? Every other time I rushed they happily told me where the seats would be located.

Had long layover from London and missed it while in England (saw the absolutely amazing "Everybody's Talking About Jamie" instead) so figured I'd give rush a shot after getting into the city.

Walked up to box office 1 hr. before curtain on a Tuesday night and got Orchestra row M, seats 4 and 6.

I can echo what above poster said ... box office rep. said that rush seats are up to whatever system spits out.

The website displays the following message on the tickets page:

RUSH POLICY
A limited number of $45 rush tickets will be available for purchase at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street, when the box office opens on the day of the applicable performance. Tickets are limited to two per person, will be seated in partial view seats, and are subject to availability.

Anyone know/can confirm if this is a recent change or a mistake?

Thanks

It’s not a mistake - they’re $45 now! Someone said this in another thread:

BroadwayNoob said: "TPTGW had a super easy rush when I went on a saturday - I just popped in right when the BO opened. The seats were $45 and I ended up with phenomenal6th row orchestra seats"

$45 rush for a play without big headlining names seems steep to me, but maybe they’re trying to squeeze as much cash out of it as they can before it closes.

Thanks!!

Now that they're the same price as TDF, it seems Rush would probably get me better seats?

I'd assume so - you have the chance of partial view with the rush, but I think people have been getting good seats lately (including me)

You could also just get the $30 balcony seats if you really wanted to save money

I would pay the extra $15 for rush instead of sitting in the balcony, but that’s just my suggestion.

I am planning to see the play on Thursday.  I have a TDF membership.  Would I be better off purchasing the tickets on TDF or trying rush?

Rush got me 6th row seats. I don't know where TDF gets you, but I don't think it will be any better than that

Rush got me front row! A worthy gamble :)
