At times, the Broadway World mobile app is almost impossible to use. It has always been a little buggy, but lately the problem with video ads randomly popping up again and again seems to have gotten much worse. Another problem is an ad that pops up from time to time  that requires a response ("click OK"Broadway World Mobile App in order to clear the screen  (many malicious ads work this way. The only safe response is to quit the browser and re-open the app). And lately, whenever I try to play a featured video on the app, I go straight to an error page.

Are these problems specific to some operating systems, or are they universal? At any rate, in the event that those who run the site are not aware of the problems, I thought I'd point them out.

I stopped using the mobile app for awhile because it was soooooooo bad. Pop up ads every 30 seconds. It was horrible.

I've experienced similar problems (on iPhone 6) to those of the OP. The website is awful, but the app is appalling. The "You've won!" popups that look a heck of a lot like malware are constant.

I just had a video ad pop up 13 times as I was trying to read one message on a thread. Then the "you' ve won" malware ad popped up so I had to quit the app and reopen.

The app is terrible. I have no idea why the app or this board can't have the function where it brings you to the last response you read like every other message board and app in the world.

I haven't used the app in over two years and probably the same for even GOING to the site on mobile. It's unmanageable.

This seems to have gotten much worse. The app is pretty much unusable now. Is there anything that can be done to stop the popups?

Must be a random issue now as I haven't had those constant pop-ups in months.  Before one would always pop-up whenever I entered a new area of the site.

Bumping this thread to open a discussion about the really terrible UI that is the new video pop-up in the lower right hand corner of the mobile app. It takes up so much of the screen, auto plays videos, and all interactions with it fail so you can’t close it or pause it. It’s really bad UX. I understand wanting to push content, but the mobile app is SO flawed at it is, this isn’t a solution.

That pop-up video also affects computer performance as it eats up memory if you keep the BWW website open on your browser as the video screen is playing non-stop in the background. Videos don’t stop playing.

The ads and pop ups in the mobile version are so bad, I legitimately think it is one of the worst designed apps I have ever downloaded.

This website was clearly designed for computer use only. I would never use it on my phone because of all these comments, sounds awful.

The pop up video is annoying on a computer, but beyond frustrating here on the app, because it takes up so much screen space.

PLEASE get rid of it


If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I haven’t installed the BWW app since two phones ago and I don’t miss it. What do all of you find useful that compels you to keep it?
