Hamilton in San Francisco

SF deserves its own thread so we can talk about all happenings SF over the next four months....

For those with money, some great 500 and 200 seats are popping up occasionally-check late afternoons

For those wanting the lottery miracle, has anyone seen any announcements as to whether this will be online or in person?

Lastly, according to SF stage crew, the hamilton stage is the largest they have EVER squeezed into the Orpheum-partial view seats will really mean partial view for any of the deep stage scenes, and apparently the stage itself is higher than normal, so he recommends row d or further back if you want to see the dancers feet.

Excited to see the show friday and will report in on all things....

Who else is going for the first night of the tour?

They just released some partial view side orchestra seats for early April that are available now but from that picture as you note it seems like it would be a REAL partial view. For a $39 rush ticket I might be OK with it but for $200, it just doesn't seem worth it, though I have no doubt others will happily hurry to grab them and will congratulate themselves on their great luck.

Call me Jorge, I'm with you, I'd love to see Josh Henry again as Burr.  I might spring for a ticket when they go on sale in LA.  I also want to see Isaiah Johnson as Washington.

Does anyone know the weekly performance schedule for Michael Luwoye and others yet (what are their days on and their days off)?  I have searched but have not found it yet.

I assume they will be playing all performances. (NOT NECESSARILY) I think LMM's abbreviated schedule was to deal with the other business of the show, but that his replacements and the Chicago Hamilton(s) have played full 8 show weeks. (NO)

Certainly, there are vacations, but I'd suspect that his vacation will not be during the initial 22 week SF engagement.

This isn't true. Both the Broadway and Chicago productions still utilize the alternates for the Sunday performance. Currently on Broadway however, Javier is on leave and their are alternates performing on Thursday and Sunday.

I would have thought Showboat would have been bigger. They did expand the theater just to be able to accommodate that show

I thought i had a ticket for the last performance at the public through someone at bww but they flaked on me,,,and that was my last chance to see hamilton until now, and Ive also never seen the first show ever of a major tour, so this....is......amazing!!!!!

Hmm. I got partially obstructed view in Orchestra Row H, seats 10 thru 14. I assumed I would miss a lot of the stage left upper level stuff, but the deeper part of the stage? I have seen the show on Broadway from rear mezzanine, thought side orchestra would be a good experience for $200 a seat.

Reassure me, or tell me to sell.

Maybe. But I'm going to guess what's more obstructed would be extreme stage right. I sat not far from there for White Christmas and I didn't miss much, even though they sold them as obstructed view.

ive seen the show on videos, and dont think you will miss much with those side seats except for something upstairs far stage right or directly below that.  Like most musicals, hamilton utilizes center stage and front left front right, and very little i can recall happens from the back corners, except most notably when hamilton appears in the first number at far left top of the stairs.. Im going early friday night to check out the obstructed seats because i may utilize those for a future viewing of the show and will report back to the board

There are three seats to our right in Row H. If our seats are a problem, they have a lot of bad seats. So I am cautiously optimistic.

I am also looking into tickets on that side of the theatre.  I would love anyone's thoughts on Row E Seats 6 and 8.  Or the other side of the theatre Row C Seats 1, 3, and 5 (I'm worried those seats won't be high enough).

I didn't win on my first lottery try, but I got a notification, so there's that.

And to clarify, from looking at the Orpheum photo and going on my memory of seeing it on Broadway, I think I would miss some upper level action on the right side of the stage (the George Eacker argument, for example) and perhaps some activity on the far right on stage level. I hadn't thought about it before, but the Orpheum seats do appear to go out wider.

That said, I should be in good shape to see most of the action - everything in the center and on the left of the stage. Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but my seat will be four seats in from the far right in Row H. My wife and daughter will be closer to the center than me.

It will be a different experience than in center rear mezzanine at the Richard Rodgers, but we'll be a lot closer and I'm choosing to be hopeful.

We are going on a Sunday in May....matinee...Row J, so we can see their feet .  Paid way too much, but oh well.  I am so hoping that both Joshua Henry and Michael Luwoye will be there that day.  We were going to fly to Chicago to see Joshua Henry, and are so glad that we didn't because now we can see him in SF!

i went the final step and upgraded my seat to j110

as a subscriber they upgraded me swapped tix and i just had to pay the difference

will still go early and scout out the side seat angles and report back

this time tomorrow i get to be in the room where it happens....god i love musicals.....
