Cagney Rush?

Has anyone done the Cagney rush lately?  Can you get the tickets when the box office opens or do they release them right before the show starts?  I can't find any information online.  Do you have to be a student and if so, can you buy two tickets?  Also is it cash only or do they take credit cards?

I looked into this a couple of weeks ago.  I think I may go during my trip in May.  Unfortunately, I cannot find the source that I read.   I remember it being a general rush.  They only offer rush  for specific show times.  The box office opened at 12:00 during the week (or day) that I was interested in.  Which helped me because 12:00 would have been the earliest i could get there.  Take this info with a grain of salt, but this is what I read earlier.

It's a general rush for $25 for matinees only. I went Thursday but because it was nearly sold out, they didn't offer any rush tickets. Apparently it's performance to performance, not guaranteed.

Are Thursday matinee rush tickets a "hot" item?  I would like to see this during my trip in mid-May, but since I paid full non rush prices for my 6 shows, the $25 price is the only way I want to see it.  Has anybody gone recently and was it available?  Playbill is offering a $49 ticket,but again since I paid high for my Broadway shows, I really want to see one show on the cheap with rush.
