The casting is amazing but it's always so hard to get tickets to things a the Public.

Their website is barely functional on a normal day, let alone for something like this. Also why is it not in the Newman? They don't even want people to be able to get tickets...

Question regarding membership. If I buy the membership that includes 1 discount ticket, can I buy 2 tickets during the priority sales (one member priced and one non-member priced)?

Under current rules yes. Not sure if they're going to change them for this though

I called the theater and asked specifically regarding this production. They said I would be able to buy two tickets.

The capacity of the Newman isn't that much smaller. Anspacher is 270, Newman is 299 max.

Gah, it's a bummer to hear that tickets to anything at the Public are difficult to secure. It seems a bit ridiculous to consider paying for membership just for a better chance, right?
I was hoping I could see this while I was in the city (visiting from Australia, seeing Hamilton).

Tickets to their shows aren't too crazy. Especially in Previews. Not sure Isaac's is gonna make this a hot ticket. Plus they always do lotteries with Today Tix.

Isaac's in Star Wars, Sam Gold's the hottest director in town, it's the most famous play ever written, and the theater is tiny. It's going to be a hot ticket.

Like all supposedly "sold out" shows at the Public: the website will say it's completely sold out for months, then once performances start, trickles of tickets will be released 1-2 days in advance. Remember that because it's a membership theater, a large number of tickets have to be held back for member exchanges, and returned tickets are often then offered for sale.

Larry, that's not true. They don't even hold back tickets for members or member exchanges anymore. They really don't give a flying **** about their members. I say this as a member who has struggled to get a single ticket to every production this season.

30 seats is 30 seats.

Neon, thanks for clarifying. I didn't know that. I gave up my membership a few years ago, but when I was a member, exchanges were fairly straightforward and never an issue. I'm guessing they're in a situation now where they've taken on too many members and can no longer accommodate their demands. Everyone ends up getting shafted. If member exchanges are no longer a guarantee, then I really don't see the point of being a member anymore.
That said, in the past few years as a non-member, I've never had trouble scoring a ticket to any of their sold-out shows (including the mega-sold-out shows like Hamilton or Tiny Beautiful Things), usually a day or so in advance at full price.

How did everyone do this morning? I had no issues (for once) but it seems from Twitter that the waiting room is still causing problems for people.

I started a few minutes late by accident, but eventually was able to grab C-1 for a late August performance. I forgot to ask people if they wanted to go, so I only bought the one...

I forgot about this and remembered about 11:20. I joined the line then and was given a two-hour wait. But I'm moving along and now my wait is only 39 minutes, so I must be in a wormhole or some other breach in the space-time continuum! Someone on All That Chat said that availability is not that good unless you're able to pay for premium seats.

Availability was fine right at 11, but I imagine it went quickly.

This was a breeze for me. I thought the Public handled it well.

I did have to manually refresh the page as it didn't seem to do it automatically, but managed to snag seats in the center section row e, so not bad at all. I had prepared for a mess from what i'd seen on here, so relatively pain free this time it seems.

I was told I had a two-hour wait when I began, but it ended up being about 40 minutes. I was buying a single, so it wasn't that hard to get the date I wanted.

Anyone know if the Public is gonna do one of their Free First Previews for this show? (I'm guessing no?)

It's listed on the calendar with the symbol they use for free first previews, and you can't select June 20th when buying tickets, so I'd say they are.

Has anyone ever sat on the far side aisles? The day I am available to go all that is currently available is B 18 and 20 on one side or B 17 and 19 on the other. In pictures of the theater it looks like there is a pole on each side of the stage about 6 feet in front of these seats ..... Any opinion about these particular seats? Thanks !
