There were 15 musicals that I count. Nine have had recordings released so far (Disaster, She Loves Me, Bright Star, Waitress, Tuck Everlasting, Paramour and Falsettos) with two announced (Holiday Inn and Dear Evan Hansen). That leaves American Psycho (already has a London cast CD) Shuffle Along, Motown (didn't need another Broadway cast recording of the exact same production that closed only 18 months before), Cats, Natasha Pierre (likely to get a new recording), A Bronx Tale (likely to get a recording) and In Transit.
So far, most did get a cast CD and more are likely to come.
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
I really would have liked to see American Psycho get a Broadway recording done, just so we could have the NYC production preserved. I still think it was quite intriguing.
some have mentioned that Shuffle Along may be recorded after a certain amount of weeks have passed since the show closed (i can't recall the number) because of some union rules regarding the salary that must be paid. i have my fingers crossed because the score was a delight and i need a record of Adrienne Warren singing I'm Craving for That Kind of Love.
