why no blu rays

Has anybody ever heard why none of the NBC or FOX "LIVE" musicals are available on blu ray?  The only listing I have ever seen are for the basic dvd format only.  Surely these were all filmed in HD so why wouldn't they release them on blu ray since that seems to be the overwhelming format of choice for most people these days.

I've wondered about this, too.  I guess they don't think the demand is high enough to warrant releasing it on 2 formats.   Still seems a bit strange in this day and age.  Perhaps most people watch it when it's on and feel no need to revisit it.

I think it must be a financial issue. It costs more to produce BD's that it does DVDs and the price point for sales probably doesn't justify it.

I'm bummed about it too.

Demand for physical media in general seems to be on the decline. I was surprised when Twilight Time, which releases only 3,000 copies of movies on BluRay, would have seemingly popular titles like Sleepless in Seattle and not sell out for months and months after they came out...

^^ yup. I haven't used a CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray in at least 6 years; and I don't believe my media habits are unusual.
