Comet - banquettes seat or front mezz?

Sorry, for yet another comet seating question. I have looked at all seating options and have narrowed it down to front row of mezzanine or center banquettes seating maybe row 4-5?  Any chance someone who sat in the banquettes area can comment if they would pick that area again, or maybe opt for front mezzanine? 2 different experiences I know.....Thank you in advance!

I loved third row banquette (third seat in, closer to center the better) and would definitely do it again.

I haven't seen this yet, but I just had dinner with a young woman (friend of my son) who works for a (the?) major costume shop in the city and their shows include this one. We were talking about it and I asked her where she thought was the best place to sit. She emphatically said "Front mezzanine" because apparently there is quite a bit that goes on there that people in parts of the orchestra can't see. So there's one opinion, anyway!

Isherwood also discusses this a bit in his review from yesterday:

"Where to sit, you may wonder. I went to see the show twice in two days, first sitting on a banquette onstage and returning to sit in the orchestra.

For those who want to be closest to the action, the stage might be the place to be. For fans of Mr. Groban, perhaps the orchestra is the better choice. Then again, I had a friend who saw it from the mezzanine and felt he had an ideal view.

The answer really is, with a show this intoxicatingly good, there’s probably no such thing as a bum seat."

Thanks Hsky! That's good to hear. That is the exact area I was thinking of. And Karen24, I did read that review as well. I have read such great things about sitting front mezz. My take is for shear vantage point, front mezz is the way to go. If you want to feel a part of the action, onstage is the optimum choice.  I guess there is no wrong way to go, but its nice to hear from someone who sat in the banquettes say they would do it again!  We have never attended a play that allowed us to be so close to the action, so I am leaning that way just for the unique opportunity.

Rachel Chavkin (much like Sam Gold with Fun Home) knows what she's doing and the show is directed for the whole space. Personally, I sat on the stage right banquettes and had a blast- it's exciting to be in the middle of all the action, and some of the stage pictures are really gorgeous from there. The only bad thing is that a lot is happening around you, so if you're not terribly familiar with the story it might be a little confusing. But regardless of where you sit, you'll still get a unique experience.
