The only good thing to come out of the Jill Stein recount boondoggle is that it got Donald mad.

Let's all resolve to spend the n ext few months until the impeachment process begins continually finding ways to "poke the bear." Just find lots of ways to keep him (and Broadway Concierge and SueStorm) mad by poking the bear.

Just keep poking that orange bear until impeachment comes.

Faced with this chaotic mixture of incompetence and iniquity, the Democratic party has alternated between accommodation and self-recrimination. President Barack Obama has understandably been unwilling to denounce his successor openly, at least so long as he serves as head of state. Hillary Clinton, also understandably, has largely disappeared from the spotlight following her defeat.

No other Democratic leader has emerged to take up the slack. Former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders preemptively declared he’d work with Trump, and has been most visible chastising not Trump, but Democrats, whom he accuses of losing white working class voters. Newly minted Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and the Congressional Democratic leadership have also spent most of their time these past few weeks talking about compromising with Trump on infrastructure improvement. Trump has taken advantage of the moment to tap Alabama senator Jeff Sessions for attorney general, a man who was once rejected from a federal judgeship because of his allegedly racist comments in the 1980s.

He voted against a bill that banned employers from discriminating against gay people and a bill that fought anti-gay hate crimes. He called the Obama administration’s guidelines allowing transgender students to use the bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity, “absurd.”

Price went out of his way to back Kelvin Cochran, an Atlanta fire chief who wasterminated in January 2015 after employees received copies of his self-published book, which equated homosexuality with pedophilia and bestiality. The city’s mayorclaimed Cochran was fired for his “judgment and management.” But Price, along with five other Georgia lawmakers, signed onto a letter asking the mayor to reinstate him. (Cochran filed a lawsuit claiming that he was discriminated against because of his faith.) 

Price also appeared on a conference call in 2013 with Rabbi Noson Leiter, who once suggested that Hurricane Sandy was divine punishment for gay marriage. Leiter asked the congressman whether he thought it prudent to consider the medical and economic impacts of legislation that promotes a “homosexual agenda.”

Price said he agreed. “The consequences of activity that has been seen as outside the norm are real and must be explored completely,” he added."

A decade ago, Hillary Clinton called for a similar punishment. Then a United States Senator for New York, Clinton co-sponsored the Flag Protection Act of 2005. Senator Robert Bennett, a Republican from Utah, introduced the bill to the Senate in October 2005.

“The flag of the United States is a unique symbol of national unity and represents the values of liberty, justice and equality,” the bill said. “Abuse of the flag,” it continued, “causes more than pain and distress to the overwhelming majority of the American people and may amount to fighting words or a direct threat to the physical and emotional well-being of individuals.” If intended to incite violence, the bill stated, destroying a flag went beyond political speech and therefore was not protected under the First Amendment, as the Supreme Court had ruled it was in 1989 and 1990.

No she didn't. Clinton was wrong then, but she did not call for citzenship to be revoked for burning the flag.

Erik, I think threatening to punish people for political speech is the bright line here, and they're both clearly on the evil side of that line. But Clinton lost, so there's little point in bringing up her evils at this late date.

Interestingly, Scalia, whom Trump seems to lionize, was part of the majority in the Supreme Court decisions striking down flag-burning laws.

Since you dont believe Newsweek, here is the New York Times take on Hillarys Flag Burning Ban.  of course The New York Times sharply criticized her for her bill.  Calling her a Panderer.  I say good For her. The Point is though to show Pal Know-It-All that he is unkowning poking his svengali.

Trump called for people who burned the flag to lose US citizenship. Where in the NYTimes or Newsweek article is Clinton calling for anything like that?

I think maybe you should re-read it.

The Flag Protection Act of 2005  called for a punishment of no more than one year in prison and a fine of no more than $100,000; unless that flag was property of the United States Government, in which case the penalty would be a fine of not more than $250,000, not more than two years in prison, or both.

That is not "similar to" revoking citizenship. 

And while I agree with KDogg that Clinton was wrong, I do think there is a difference between Clinton's bill and the President-Elect of the United States calling for people to have their US citzenship revoked.
