Fantastic! It'll be so nice to have an official recording of the final version of the material. I wonder which label is doing it. My guess would be PS Classics.

I loooove PS, but after Ghostlight's beautiful work on She Loves Me, I kind of hope that they do it.  This is exciting news regardless of who records it.

I agree with icecreambenjamin, much as I love PS Classics, Ghostlight still seems to always have the best sounding recordings.

I'm sure someone will pick up HOLIDAY INN. They will make the investment in recording it because it has tons of regional / community theatre licensing potential.

i'm so excited for this album! looking forward to finally having one complete recording for Falsettos, although i'm still sad one of my favorite sections is missing (the bit about Trina hanging from the chandelier).

I think they reinstated that line, actually, Gypsy! They took it out then put it back after one night, if I'm not mistaken.

That line was not in when I saw the show this weekend, to my disappointment.

Just saw the show last night - first time being exposed to the material - and I was already jonesing to listen to it again. Glad to wake up today and read this news. 

 

Not it sure what the chandeliers line is, but it was not in the show last night.

Anyone know / remember from past recordings produced by Sh-K Boom/Ghostlight what the likely timing is, either pre-order or release, for a digital version? (Assuming via iTunes or Amazon; I think I got the She Loves Me album on iTunes, but it was well after release.) Thanks!

Sh-K-Boom used to release their albums digitally almost a month in advance of the physical release and then ship pre-orders a week prior to the street date. She Loves Me was unique if I recall correctly because there was an issue with the CDs and some people who pre-ordered were given some kind of code for a digital download because of the delay.

Thanks! Now I'm starting to remember ... Something Rotten was also Ghostlight (right?) and the month-in-advance timing sounds familiar for digital.
