There we are then. Andrew Lloyd Webber will have FOUR shows running on Broadway at the same time.

Interesting that Patti will also be on Broadway at the same time as this.

I've never been to The Palace - what is it like for seating?  I'm thinking Mezz would be good for this one if there's a 40 piece orchestra???  Opinions appreciated!

holy - this is shaping up to be quite the year...  :)

Close, having already won a Tony for this role, will not be eligible.

I don't think Close is eligible for the Tony, but I believe the production is? Right?

Either way, SO HYPE.

I don't like that suddenly Norma in this production has stunning period hair. What happened to her turbans?

To Plannietink08's point, I wonder if Patti is annoyed that she will have to deal with seeing Sunset signs all over town while she's doing War Paint.

They supposedly made up at the Kennedy Center Honors for Barbara Cook, but, well, you know Patti.

It would be fun if they made some kind of benefit concert appearance for charity together.

Hasn't this been "officially announced" every week for the past month?

So not only do we have Falsettos, Hello Dolly, Cats, Miss Saigon, and Sunset Boulevard in the race for Best Revival of a Musical, but Andrew Lloyd Webber now has four productions of his work running on Broadway at the same time. Wow, this is the 1990's all over again.

ljay889 - I'd assume so, yes.

I'm not super familiar with the material - is there a role for Michael Cerveris / Danny Burstein in this? I hate it when at least one of them are not on Broadway.

I'd say either of them (but especially Cerveris) would do a nice job as Max.

ETA: Or Cecil B. DeMille, but that's probably too small a role for those actors.

I've only been once for An American in Paris. It's a big theater. I sat mid mezz and while the seat was fine, it felt quite far away. Not sure what the overlap of the mezz over the orch is, but I'm guessing pretty far back. Maybe try to get to the front part of the mezz if you want to see facial expressions.

Is Glenn doing all shows? At these prices and limited schedule, I assume so...but I am slightly hesitant because it says "performance schedule to be announced soon". Practically the only person I'd be happy as an understudy for this show at those prices is LuPone...SO expensive.

Thanks, should have read more carefully. Just bought a ticket - I'm kind of annoyed at myself for doing so because besides a few good songs, the show is a dog. And Glenn could barely sing them 20 years ago (based on recordings) - no idea why I'd want to revisit. But I can't resist.

I'm so glad to see this show back on Broadway, I just wish we had a different leading lady.
