Did the lobby look Cold War bunker-esque with "concrete" walls, plastic dropcloths, etc? If so, it actually is done!

It really is very well done. If you want the immersive experience (including perogies (sp?), lots of vodka and Josh Grobans spit all over you) sit on stage. If you want the full view, front mezzanine is the way to go.

I want to book a ticket for May but have no idea where to sit! Love full views of the stage, but after shows like Hadestown, I love the immersiveness of staging like this! Especially from Chavkin. Any particular area that may be best if I wanted an on stage seat? I feel like I answered my own question. Haha.

Definitely immediately behind the "orchestra pit", which is where Josh Groban sits most of the time and mainly where the action happens. Though, I was turning around a lot.

The general rule of Natasha, Pierre onstage seating seems to be that everyone always thinks their own onstage seat was the best in the house.

....So...Chavkin must be doing something right, I guess.

Well, no, I wouldn't say that. I didn't adore my seat onstage at the ART.  I enjoyed it from stage left, but there were things I couldn't see 100%. It was still a great experience, but I'm sure other places gave a better view.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Was second in line for rush this morning! Got there around 7:15 and the line didn't build up until 8.

They had a little issue with their system and only the first person got seats together (to my knowledge, don't know if it changed after) and me and my friend got put back to back in rows E and F, not extreme side but pretty close.

Cant wait to see this again! Saw it three years ago when it was in the tent on the lot next to the Imperial and it's still in my top five favorite theatre experiences!

Jacobsnchz14, I also want to get tickets for a May trip to NY, but I don't think they are on sale yet. Right now they only have tickets available up until April 23rd. If anyone has any idea when (or if) tickets will be on sale for May dates that would be great. I am hoping the reviews are awesome as this is penciled in for our final night in NY.

Today tix had discounted seats for Friday night. I kept telling me "none available" but I called anyway to verify

i was told there was one in someone's cart that may expire and be re-released   They woman states on the phone with me to make sure I made the purchase. Got a ticket at rush price without having to schlep all the way into the city at the crack of dawn. GOD BLESS TODAY TIX

Was just at the Imperial to pick up my tickets, and the lobby is indeed totally normal and finished.  Cold War bunker finished, that is, which for this show is finished.  :)

They're selling window cards and a keychain. That's all I've spotted so far.

Update: and magnets

I need a photo of the inside! Especially interested in seeing the stairs that lead to the mezzanine.

I'm dying here. Here's a tiny sneak peak, but it's nothing really.

It looks fantastic! I'm surprised they managed to get all that done in such a short time but it looks amazing! I cannot wait to hear reports and to see the show myself!

I love how it looks.  Perfect.

Can't wait to hear reports. A good friend was at the final dress last night and described it as "a glorious event." So excited.

Intermission right now. Loving it. Show will only get better as the cast gets more comfortable. I have a feeling this will be a hit.

Groban's voice is on point. So glad he's doing theater. Why has this not happened earlier?

Amber Gray officially has one of the best theater careers of the past couple of years. From this, Hadestown and Octaroon, she's getting amazing roles. Her solo and Groban's solo at the end of act 1 are the highlights for me thus far.

I'm here too. I went last minute and didn't know much about the show, but I think it's great! It took a bit to get used to because of the contrast of the classic story to the technological aspects, but I think that's sort of the point. Stage setup is so cool and music is sometimes super modern but also classical at times as well. Not my type of show, but I do think it will be a hit because of the innovation

Interested in hearing about the sound quality. I saw the show at A.R.T. and thought it was brilliant, but simply couldn't understand a very good chunk of what they were singing.
