Round 1 - http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Breaking-News-Tony-Awards-Administration-Committee-Makes-First-Rulings-of-the-Season-on-CATS-PARAMOUR-More-20161014

Nothing crazy - Paramour and Cats are both eligible (An Act of God is not), and the Hudson Theatre is officially a tony-eligible house.

But will Andy's choreography from Cats be deemed eligible even if it's based/inspired by Lynne's original?

^According to Riedel's article yesterday, it will not be eligible.

From the linked article:

"BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Andy Blankenbuehler, who choreographed the show (based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne), has been deemed ineligible in the category."

It's interesting, because hasn't Christopher Gattelli been eligible for his work on South Pacific and the king and I even though his work was based off the original Jerome Robbins choreography and he was nominated for both too. I'm sure there are more examples, but Gattelli was the first one I could think of.

And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

They must have added that since I posted. I was looking for something of that nature.

Call_me_jorge - percentage could be key. I remember seeing a lot of the original choreography with some smaller Blankenbuhler sections, but I may be wrong

Just curious. Were any of the actors in Paramour above the title in the playbill (aka eligible in lead)? I'm assuming not, but I havent caught it yet and cant find that info anywhere.

There's no playbill for Paramour. They only had little flyers with the leads' names in it that were placed in the lobby and near the bar.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QhW5FAOtIs someone made a comparison video of Gillian Lyne's original choreography from the CATS DVD and Andy B's choreography from the Good Morning America performance clip. from what I see, it's basically the same except Andy added more angular movements ()(see the video ar around 0:30),

Yup. I asked someone working there about it and their repsonse was "Cirque doesn't do playbills".
