Mean Girls Musical: Washington DC Fall 2017 |
I wonder what theatre this will be at. I suppose it could be at Sig, but Arena Stage also seems like an option.

It was posted on the official Mean Girls film facebook page.
ITS OCTOBER 3rd! https://twitter.com/meangirlsdc/status/783018808021815296
Very excited to hear about this! I loved the original movie, can't wait for more information to come out. So glad I live near DC, I definitely will want to see this when it comes out. Here's hoping that it will be good and popular enough to secure a Broadway run - I know a lot of people who would love to see this!
In a moment of bizarre irony, Lohan is currently making a BWW headline for apparently severing her finger (!!) in a boating accident. The link won't click through, but it is there.

Sounds like it's an out of town tryout. So maybe the Kennedy or National? I'd think if it was a subscription house, they would have announced it with this announcement?
It's odd that no venue was included. Or director.

Me too! I'm so glad Broadway producers are noticing DC again: If/Then, Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, and now Mean Girls. Just wish Frozen was debuting here :/

I read on a cast calling post for the show that the roles of Ms. Norbury, Ms. George, and Ms. Heron will be cast by one person who will be doing each character. Should be interesting. Stephanie J Block is my top pick as well.
I believe it's confirmed in the article that Casey Nicholaw is Director. I wish it was Jerry Mitchell

Jerry Mitchell could end up doing choreography - but if Casey Nicholaw is directing, then he's most likely choreographing the show.
I hope Fey and her husband stuck to their guns about not just making funny lines into their own songs. I think too many movie-to-musicals make this mistake and in a way it kills the joke. Like, sure make the candy gram a whole patter song of names and responses but don't make me listen to 3 minutes of "Glenn Coco, you go-go Glenn Coco!" and "Other moms are such a drool moms, but me? I'm a cool mom!"
