Miss Saigon keeps my fear at bay. I'm now pretty much immune to Kim's suicide after seeing a hundred ways to kill herself. What worse can one be than having their hope shattered?

Dear Evan Hansen is reassuring, and I had myself reassured four times during the few weeks of its off-Broadway run.

Merrily We Roll Along, I know there are issues with the book BUT "Our Time" is one song that just makes feel excited about everything even if things are complete crap

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is like a hot Bailey's and Coffee mit Schlag to me: frothy and bracing and warming in equal measure. Aren't most musicals ultimately about finding the right partners to waltz with as the curtain falls?

Legally Blonde is my pick too.

I overdid Wicked when I first fell in love with it, so I have been avoiding it, but I remember the power it had over me. I was actually physically sick one morning on the bus, couldn't breathe properly, and was sure I was going to throw up. The guy next to me was listening to The Wizard & I on his headphone really really loud. I just concentrated on the song for a few minutes and my breathing was back in control and there was sudden happiness inside me. It was crazy.

After forever lurking...and it's still my favorite pastime...

Not necessarily "at peace," but I breathe when they finish. A big sigh, like my brain and heart have gone through this crazy process.

Waitress, Fun Home, Carousel, and Company. I imagine The Color Purple would do it too, if I'd seen it. It's those finale numbers. They are all so life-affirming.
