This would be a great house for SMOKEY JOE'S, especially if all those involved in the developmental reading do the show.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
It would indeed be interesting to see SmokeyJoe's retake the Wilson, but I think there are a number of shows far more mobilized and already scratching at the Wilson's door than Smokey Joe's is right now.
What is up with Best Little Whorehouse revival? The timing could indicate that they might show up here. Holliday would seemingly be out of TCP by then (Jan 8th is her current contract I believe). Kristin could go on to say she had 2 Broadway engagements this season.
There's also Sweet Charity...

4. Amelie
5. Half Time
6. Bandstand
7. Indecent
8. Spongebob
9. Singin' In The Rain

If Bandstand is planning to come in for the spring (which I'm pretty sure they are), I could see them taking up the August Wilson. I think it could actually be a perfect house for that show.
I'm excited to see its next tenant. I moved to NYC shortly after Jersey Boys opened and saw it in Chicago, so it's the only Broadway house I've never been to.
SUNSET is taking the Palace Theater in the Spring. I don't think HONEYMOONERS is coming over until Fall 2017.

Didn't someone say here in a different thread that Bandstand got cancelled?
BANDSTAND needs work. So unless they're reworking the show now, it should be held off until next season. There's too much competition from a lot of new musicals this season that BANDSTAND would almost be guaranteed to flop this season. Compared to shows like DEAR EVAN HANSEN, GREAT COMET, WAR PAINT & COME FROM AWAY, BANDSTAND isn't anywhere near these shows.

I thought Bandstand was in pretty good shape when I saw it at Paper Mill where I saw it early previews and then saw it again towards the end of the run.
If it were to open in Spring 2017 that would put it at about a year and a half since its Paper Mill production so I think it'd be fair to say they've been working quite a bit on it since then.

ACL was saying "pretty good shape" isn't good enough in a season like this. They fare better in a season without all these shows which were critically acclaimed in their respective pre Broadway runs. Bandstand was less so.

^exactly. A new musical that's just above average will likely flop this season. Too much high quality competition & likely very few Tony nominations, too.
