Does anyone know if any of the principles (particularly Abby) are leaving the tour anytime soon? It's coming to town next month and I'm curious.
I would also like to know this, particularly for Ben Fankhauser. I'm seeing it in January.
Well we know ben is out for the show for a bit for newsies.
Abby's last show is September 11th.
wow thats a shameshe was terrific in the role!
From the San Diego Jewish Journal: ''For this tour, Ben Fankhauser signed a one-year contract, which expires in September . “I’ll probably stay,” he says (contracts are only offered a year at a time). “This tour is scheduled for about two more years. It’s doing really well, and I’m having a blast.”When I interviewed Ben for BroadwayWorld.com, he said the producers were very supportive about letting him leave for two weeks while the tour was in San Francisco in order to do the ''Newsies'' taping. He intimated that the ''Newsies'' movie might bring more of his fans to see him in the ''Beautiful'' tour.https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/BWW-Exclusive-Ben-Fankhauser-on-His-BEAUTIFUL-Life-the-Latest-NEWSIES-News-20160822That's too bad about Abby leaving. She's some kind of wonderful. Wonder why she couldn't finish the S.F. stop on Sept. 18.
Of course I'll just miss her. Thanks for the info!

Kennedy has been with the show for obscenely long, I cannot imagine she'd be with it for that much long now.I know she is probably going to be in Significant Other, but I really want to see Lindsay Mendez take over the Broadway production.
Julia Knitel who understudied Carole (and was supposed to be phenomenal!), just left the Broadway production about two weeks ago. Hmmmm. I wonder if she may be the new tour Carole? The timeline would make sense.
Thanks so much for the info on Abby! I was going to wait til Frank got back to go see the show, but I really wanted to see her as well, so now I'll just have to go see it twice. I would have been really sad if I had just missed her.

Does anyone by any chance know where the TodayTix rush tickets have been for SF? Thank you!
I went last Saturday, getting our rush tickets at 4 p.m. for an 8 p.m. show. Our seats were in Row U in the orchestra on the left side. We seemed to be surrounded by TodayTix purchasers. They were good seats. The theater was not full. I make no promises for what you would get, of course. It looks more crowded on Labor Day weekend (although there are plenty of tickets Friday as of now). As for the show, the main performances are fine. I hadn't seen it before, and admittedly have a bias against jukebox musicals. This one had the usual problems with the book, as it ended up making Carole King - whose accomplishments are even more impressive than I realized - less interesting than the actual person must have been during her career. The "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" section, which illustrates the creative process and shows how talented she was at such a young age, was the highlight of the musical. I was bummed when it devolved into a steady diet of hits. Still, as my wife commented, it was pleasant.
So excited for Julia! I can't wait to see her in the role in a few weeks
